A weekend camping in the desert is hard to beat

I'd be scared of camping in a dry wash/arroyo like that with all those clouds! I've been caught in a flash flood before so maybe I'm overly cautious about it. Beautiful spot though.

Yep! Luckily that was just the remnants of a system that rolled through a day before we went out so it was blue skies for most of the trip but def good to always be cautious of that

Went to the gulches even park today with two sons and the olders family . Had a great time, except the mirror popped off and I scuffed my new paint. Was able to fix the mirror, the paint will probably wait until spring.View attachment 4039395
I would like to learn more about your automobile.

There is a build thread, “Godzilla gets a face lift, and a little nip and tuck”. Probably need to do a bit of an update, as I have gotten a little more done.

Started fitting some heated/cooled seats in the 60. They are from a 2007 Lexus GS350.

Planted seat brackets and some trimming of the Lexus attachment point are required along with removal of the alignment pins.

Once I get the positioning & wiring sorted out, I'll pull them to paint the plastic bits with SEM Cordovan Brown and use some leather dye to try and match the dash.

Probably a dumb question, but do you just take the battery out for the winter and pop it back in after? I live in the upper mid-west and we get some real cold days around Feb (-20 or so), so I'm thinking on those cold snaps i could just remove the battery then pop it in after.
I leave it in and just connect a maintainer. CTEK MXS 5.0. I have an older model, looks the same, apparently I bought it 6 years ago! Fortunately my FJ60 gets to hog our two car garage for the Chiraq winters.
