Oil change on my ‘83 and a quick valve adjustment to quiet @batthewmrown ‘s ‘86.
This is about as much Cruiser as my garage could handle!

Glad to hear that modified flasher is working for ya!Replaced my choke cable, I had already patched it once but that second brake made it hard to use. And while I was all pretzeled up under the dash I installed @CruiserTrash flasher module for led blinkers. No more hyper flash.
Old broken cable:

Old Flasher module.
Shipped core unit out this morning.Glad to hear that modified flasher is working for ya!
Now send me back that core unit ... I'm out of the green ones!![]()
Looks great so far. Let me know how you get the hog rings onto those bars in the middle of the rear seat foam. I've got a seat taken apart like that and cutting the rings off was hard enough - I can't figure out how I'd get new ones back on.Finished redoing all seats with new covers and bottom foam. Started into my sound proofing project did the rear end with sound deadened then a foam mat then new carpet. Did the fender wells too. Also installed new door gasket seals from trail tailor and rubber skirts around engine compartment.

They were a pain in the ass!!!! I first put the hog ring through the seat flap and metal bar in the flap (preloaded it). I then folded the foam in half. Ran the flap through and used the hog ring pliers to crimp the hog ring. PIA…. Every seat had that in the middle both bottoms and backs. The only one I didn’t do is the big bench seat bottom. Every other one I did. It helps by also taking wire out of old seat covers and running the wire into the new covers same locations. I have to steam out the wrinkles in the back bench seat and the new rear carpet.Looks great so far. Let me know how you get the hog rings onto those bars in the middle of the rear seat foam. Ferry ride to the peninsula road trip…. Testing new seats.
Yeah same. Every time @Roonie makes a post I'm like "Oh yeah, it's THAT truck with the hot graphics."easily my favorite graphics on a 60. Every time I see a photo of this truck I'm like "damn, those look so good"
Don’t worry, I’ll tackle the swap with the same anal retentive attention to detail I’ve used on this engine. No destination yet, I’m sure someones gonna want a low mileage 2F though.Yeah same. Every time @Roonie makes a post I'm like "Oh yeah, it's THAT truck with the hot graphics."
@timexlost Your engine bay photo is art, it'll be sad to see that get ripped out. I hope it's got a destination elsewhere. By the way, what's the alternator situation there?
Thanks for the order! You got a write up on the 80 alt swap? I've been thinking about something like that.Don’t worry, I’ll tackle the swap with the same anal retentive attention to detail I’ve used on this engine. No destination yet, I’m sure someones gonna want a low mileage 2F though.
Alt is a 80 series 80 amp unit. I upgraded a little over a month ago. Grabbed a fusible link kit from you but haven't installed it yet, have a couple other things I’d like to do with the battery cables at the same time but haven’t nailed down exactly how I want to do them.
Yes, super straightforward. I found all the info here Alternator altering - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/alternator-altering.442901/ but I’ll give you the cliffnotes. Thanks for the order! You got a write up on the 80 alt swap? I've been thinking about something like that.
Rad, that sounds easy. Mark made some 40 harness stuff for me so I've chatted with him before. I'd probably do a different pulley - my Saginaw is a narrower pulley and a narrower belt. Getting the alternator on board with that program would be good.Yes, super straightforward. I grabbed a Pigtail from Coolerman so it would just plug right in
Email him fj40coolerman@gmail.com part number is Part# 3P8892W
Then a reman Remy unit from rockauto
Swapped the single groove pulley over from my 60 series alt and bolted it right in. Some people report needing a different belt but mine worked perfect. I needed a shorter adjustment bolt and I just about maxed out my adjuster but the tension is perfect and it’s good to go. I’ll snap some better photos when I’m home from work.
They saved the best for last! You've got to bring that thing to a Cruiserheads meeting one of these days.
