Took about 500 pounds of the front of my fire truck
I guess Toyota put all that weight there to balance the heavy pumps out of the back
I took all that weight off and now rides like it should

Camped out in the desert for a few nights over the long holiday weekend. A few pics here highlighting the fresh 4Plus front bumper install, 8274 that I just rebuilt, and the rear bumper I recently finished building using Marks kit.

Fixed my drivers broken seat and ripped cloth. Replaced the bottom seat foam and used cruiser corp covers. They are actually comfortable now. I added some soft foam onto the bottoms and the back before recovering. Also cut down bottom cushions by an inch and drilled holes in them to soften them up. Added foam onto the seat back for better lumbar support.

Braved the drive from Sunset Valley to Dallas and procured some provisions along the way.

Last weekend I got the new parallel flow aircond condenser installed, and this morning I got the evaporator out - it was easy enough with the glovebox out. The only issue was the wiring that I had added which made it difficult to get the evaporator box around it…
After removing the evaporator box I got the old evaporator out and gave the box a clean. I have decided to get my aircond guy to install the new rx valve and pressure switch to the new evaporator as I don’t want any leaks and want to make sure it is done right the first time. This will happen during the week… here are some pics…

Is that the SOR cushion with all the holes cut out? Did it help any?

I think your pics here have finally convinced me which way to go on the front bumper. Was always going to get a 4+ but wasn't sure which one (I have a 8274 and a Warn 9.5XP sitting under the work bench). The 8274 version is definitely not as low profile but seems to offer a little more protection for the grill, haven't really appreciated that before until seeing yours. Plus the 8274 is just so old school cool.
Your "Clark" thread is great btw.

Thank you for the thread comment.

I've said it elsewhere but I can't speak highly enough of Dave at 4Plus. Not only does he build bombproof stuff, but he's always willing to share his extensive real-world Landcruiser experience and knowledge.

8274 is the way to go and if you have not upgraded the motor and swapped out the solenoids for a contactor, do so and you'll have an even better winch.

Super close photo but PPFing the rockers as I recently got them fixed from being Swiss cheese and hoping this prevents chips. Still working it out but hoping this is some cheap insurance.

Yes that's the SOR bottom foam piece. It is hard foam. My drivers side was torn and foam was destroyed (common problem). Yes the holes helped soften it up and I took about an inch off the bottom with a serrated knife so it doesn't sit so high. I also added 1"soft foam on top of the cushion which also helped. I added same 1" soft foam on the lumbar area on the back cushion. I went for a 2 hour drive and they are comfortable to me. Better support than original and now they look new.

I had prior never done upholstery.

That storefront, taking back home...here's hoping your tranny held up better than your last trip to Dallas. ;)
I will admit I get itchy when I bring this cruiser up here. Two times and two tranny's, that was tough. I've been here a few times since. Starter going out on me this trip but I have a new reman in hand thanks to my good friend CD...

Drove the kid to school in mine today after it has pretty much been sitting since we got back from Moab a few weeks ago.
It still drives awesome, and still gets me smiling when I hear the turbo spooling as I cruise up a long hill...
It was cold this morning, and I was reminded about my bypassed heater core that started leaking again. I guess I'll order a new one from Cruiser Corp soon. I'm kinda thinking I don't want to do this job again and put my old crappy cracked up dash pad back in.
Rust Farmers may also be getting a big pile of my hard earned dollars soon...
