Began to clean up a set of OEM wheels I just bought. Backsides horribly baked with grime. Fronts were in good shape.
Just not sure I'm going to like these as much as my black 40 wheels and caps, though I do love stock. I am making the right move, right?
Pic of backside wheel before and after, and front face after polish. Also a pic with my current 40 wheels.

Those chrome wheels will look nice.

I am personally a sucker for black steelies and chrome caps, depending on vehicle body color.

Man, I dont feel like they are worth their price tag. Their price is the Instagram tax. I’d say build quality is between corbeau and entry level recaro. So like nice corbeaus? Not saying they are bad or anything, but these are $1,200 seats all day. Not 1,900.

If i was to do it again id save up longer and get Recaro Orhopeds with the powered adjustments and heated and cooled being standard. Or just get firstgen 4runner or turbo hj61 seats and have them reupholstered and add heaters.
I gotta find a place to try both of them out. I don't mind dropping the money but I need to sit in them before spending that much. I was looking at those Recaro seats and they're so cool.

I honestly have no issue with the seats in the 60 or in our 70 series. They're both leaps and bounds more comfy than the 2022 tiguan we had. I've never gotten out of one of the cruiser seats and been in pain.

Id say if your pockets are deep enough for the recaros go with those. The quality is that much better. It feels like my sheel manns wont last as long as the original fj60 seats did. Something tells me in like 10 ish years theyll need to be reupholstered or replaced, while you can look online for recaros that came on cars from the late 70s and 80s.

The orthopeds are heated and cooled, have power lumbar, power seat tilt, power bolsters, and are heated and cooled. The thigh extension and headrest is manual. IMO they look better than the SM seats as well.

If youre ever in oregon you can sit in mine haha. They will some times have test seats at the recaro dealers to try out. Im pretty sure SM is local to me here in portland

If you are replacing your seatbelts, the “charcoal” colored seatbelts look better than the regular grey belts from seatbelt planet. The grey is more of a match to the metal lighter grey in the dash.

Here are 2 pics of them in the truck and a pic of fj62 stock rear seatbelts in my 60 for reference.

The seatbelt quality is super nice. Definitely worth it. I will say though, before you order, call and make sure they use Grey accent plastics on your seatbelts. For some reason they use black plastic bits on the charcoal seatbelts. If you ask them before they build your seatbelts to use the grey accents, they will do it. I learned this the hard way

Ooo, what front seats are those?!

Wrapped up a 2000+ mile road trip MT to CA and back...family holidays, visited Georg/Valley Hybrids for some parts, randomly met Luke/4x4Labs in downtown Nevada City and chased chukars in the Steens Mountains / Alvord Desert for New Years. The 60 didn't miss a beat.

It's funny, If you look at the pic it looks like the doggo is pulling the Landcruiser. He looks like a Hause! I bet that was definitely a memorable trip!

Went retro dusted of my old ipod fabricated an ugly as sin carrying arm (hidden in the below pic) and got my old music maker running again.
I mean there is something about keeping the rig old school that apeals to me.
Also swapped internal light for ac controls ... kinda funky now (got blue LEDs to try on dash lights soonish)

Will rewire everything soon once i fit duel battery system.

Swapped old headlight with new ones with LED lights.

Repainted license plates as well ... thanks @HemiAlex ! :)

Had the fuel pump start leaking suddenly so I spent Saturday morning replacing that. Pretty easy job. Next on the list is my A/C refresh.

Took my kids skiing for their first time.

How do you like the 33x9.5x15 Klevers? Are they the AT or RT variant?
RT I think? The more aggressive ones. I like them. I kind of wish I’d got the 10.5’s just because sometimes I think they look a little skinny. But performance-wise I have no complaints. I’ve had them in up to a foot or so of fresh snow and they truck right along. Not loud on the highway and after 5000 miles, they seem to be wearing well.
