Put the body on Saturday. @Sweet Water , came up and helped me for a while. Nice motivator that he drove his beautiful white 60.

Installed a new gear box and pieced together a single jerry can holder for my 4X4Labs rear bumper. Going for the Kaymar vibe with the single!

First local test drive since Mother’s Day water pump failure. Drove all around town in 85 degree weather with AC on full blast. Drove well but the temp gauge showed typical high heat temps. Will need to pack infrared heat temp gun on next AC outing and get some temp readings.

Washed the FJ60 and then used a clay bar and some more washing (first time to use clay). Then I used some wax to protect her paint. Turned out way better than I expected. I added some Power steering fluid (ATF) and dot 3 brake fluid.

Looks great but what’s up with this park job... can you get any closer, geez!

So you just bought individual leaf springs? Is that stock springs on your rig?
It has stock springs in surprisingly good shape, but I added the bumper/winch and am installing a trailer hitch. The add a leafs are full length OME d1xl in the front and d2xl in the rear. Just one per corner. I am now 35" floor to fender with 235/85/16's.

Long overdue oil change and a second change on my tcase in a month. Just before I started my new job, I changed out my tcase oil after having not checked it for years. For a 2.5qt capacity, I only got about 3/4 cup of BLACK sludge out of it. Luckily I think I caught it before any damage could be done. I put in Schaeffer's gear oil and drove it back and forth to work for a month, 40 miles a day. The little bit of old nastiness that was left in there from the first change was so nasty that once it mixed with the new oil (which is a bright transparent yellow), even then all the new stuff came out nearly black. I couldn't believe it. Should be good now though. Talk about a close call.

Dove in and found a broken ring and two knarly pistons. After that, about 8:30am Sat, I started pulling everything off the engine to prep to pull the block.
Woofuckinghoo.

Last weekend I replaced the headlights (outer only) with LED’s. I have always had issues with the lights and had already changed the inners to HID’s run as spotlights off a relay.
I like the look of the LED’s and love the daytime running lights due to the colour of the car, but still not convinced on the low beam effective light output...
All lights are now run off Narva relays, using the existing wiring as trigger wires only. I just used jumper wires plugged into the existing headlight plugs until I found a combination that would work, as no existing threads on headlights worked for me....
Hope nothing burns out - but time will tell!!
