The “mesh screen” on that particular stihl is the bane of my existence. Whenever mine runs poorly, it’s always the clogged screen, and I always use stihl oil and good gas. Anyway, she’ll figure it out, she always does!
I pulled the screen but it was totally clean.

Run Stihl premix in your fuel. Check the fuel filter screen in the tank. Check the air filter. On the exhaust side of the saw is a diffuser to blow the exhaust away from the saw. Under that is a mesh screen that can get clogged especially if your running poor quality oil in your premix. Of course check your spark plug.
W/ the carb rebuild kit it came w/ a new filter. I followed Donyboy on youtube, he’s adorable, love his Canadian accent. I watched him again after my comment regarding the coil... I’ll check for spark. But after the rebuild everything is brand spanking new and clean.

I’m sure you adjusted the tune screws, right?

I didn’t touch them. It ran prior tho it had been a long time. I didn’t want to risk messing it up further.

My son and I were out cruising around on saturday...dang.

I was in your neck of the woods in my 60 Saturday. Would have been cool to have 2 1984 60's together. Maybe next time Senior Mustache..

You both could have come by my place and we would of had three '84s all in one place. Next time.

Love the retro license plate Senior. I will admit I never looked too much into the classic plate options Texas offers for these, but now I might have to. Looks great.

At this point if you've changed/inspected the rest of the bits and it's not running well, it could be worthwhile to mark the current positions of the tune screws and play with them. It's possible that the pre-rebuild tune was compensating for something you fixed in the rebuild and causing a stumble under baseline conditions.

Well this part of the T-case has a good leak when parked on an incline and I cannot for the life of me remember what its called.

That's your idler shaft, along with the retainer and bolt. There's an O-ring on the idler shaft that seals with the rear half of the split case. Part ID 36225A here:

Unfortunately, you have to disassemble the t-case to replace it.

Love the carrion shot. A female friend of mine sends me pics of dead stuff and I send new ones back to her. We want to enter them in an art fair sometime! Both of us have found some real doozies!
That sounds like an illness that needs a name.

Life saver. I knew it was a _____shaft. I kept thinking it was the sector shaft. Ill be leaving it leaky til I get a new gear set and H55f. The leak is slow as long as I dont park ass dowhill.

On an unrelated note, has anyone ever heard of an FJ60 tranny/case combo leaking into one another like the FJ62? My Case stays pretty dang full to over full for a fairly regular leak...

Very common t-case input shaft seal leak. Look up the by-pass fix. A long term fix until you rebuild the t-case and put a new seal. The bypass is a hose that goes from trans to t-case to help keep the gear oil levels more even.
