Did a 700 mile 24hr turn and burn to pick up a parts 40 from @The Jade Bean. Many thanks Daniel for contributing to the extended life of some 40s.

Took the '86 out of hibernation and took a few trips this week to do some exploring.

Tuesday we headed out from Santa Fe and down to the mighty Rio Grande.

The high point in the center of the photo is the White Rock Overlook. Some fantastic views from up there, and the filming location of the opening scene of the 1985 film Silverado.

A few days later we took a drive north of town for some more exploring, and found an old homesteader's road to the top of the mesa we were hiking on - too far gone now even for an FJ60 :).

Got my rig all registered in Texas with appropriate 1984 Texas plates. Such a cool deal to have year of manufacture plates on the truck. Unfortunately doing this was my last link to Massachusetts, is now I’d say I’m an official Texas resident!

Even little ol’ me here in CT has a Stihl! It’s only a 14” but after pulling it apart and rebuilding the carb I can’t get it to start and run fully. Not sure if it’s me and my technique or maybe the ignition coil. Not been on the top of my to do list so I’ve yet to order a new one.

I was in your neck of the woods in my 60 Saturday. Would have been cool to have 2 1984 60's together. Maybe next time Senior Mustache..

Run Stihl premix in your fuel. Check the fuel filter screen in the tank. Check the air filter. On the exhaust side of the saw is a diffuser to blow the exhaust away from the saw. Under that is a mesh screen that can get clogged especially if your running poor quality oil in your premix. Of course check your spark plug.

The “mesh screen” on that particular stihl is the bane of my existence. Whenever mine runs poorly, it’s always the clogged screen, and I always use stihl oil and good gas. Anyway, she’ll figure it out, she always does!
