A rebuilt 3FE (or 2FE) with H55f would also be nice.

I do need to desmog. Been pondering the GM TBI and 3FE exhaust manifold. That Trans noise is my biggest concern. I'm gonna do the H55 and clutch next and then change out the 3rd members for 4:11's. Hope the carb will stick it out until that's done.

Got my dash mostly back together after a complete overhaul. Changed from brown to grey (the grey out of my HJ60 donor truck).
All new A/C parts, all boxes re-foamed, rebuilt heater core, on and on. What a ton of work, and time consuming too.

I got a head start on the weekend this morning. Measured, marked up, and cut out a section of Thermozite (thanks for the info Jason @reevesci) for the rear cargo area of my '86 FJ60. I had upgraded to add the FJ62 cargo tie-downs from my '89 donor vehicle, so I had four extra cut-outs for those. The first photo shows the insulation/padding upside down, the second shows it in place, ready to tape down. Getting everything ready to take the FJ60 down to Montoya's Upholstery in Bernalillo for the Trail Tailor carpet install. I opted for the carpeted wheel well covers.
I also finished refurbishing the mud flaps, except for repainting the "Land Cruiser" on the rear flaps. And in a few minutes I'm driving the FJ60 down to Carmelito's Muffler Shop in Chimayo to have them look at the exhaust. I want to have them fabricate a new downpipe section from the 3FE exhaust manifolds to the FJ60 catalytic converter, to eliminate the outboard exhaust pipe from crossing under the frame rail.

I’m interested to see the new pipes when complete! Enjoy the drive!
They have an opening on Monday, will have it ready by the end of the day. Then I can install the skid plate and mud flaps before the Solid Axle Summit. I'll wait on the carpet until after we return in mid-August. Might be able to head down to Albuquerque for some powder coating the week after next.
I just got the whole unit from Beno about a month ago with the cap and hose.

Beno has always told me not to believe what the some parts guys say.
I got it through my Dealer here in town.
As they looked for the cap. They told me they where not available. Apparently I am wrong or should I say the dealer was wrong. Someone here got one from Beno.
So I guess you can go through Beno.

I should have everything finished on the '86 except the carpet, we'll wait on that and use the old floor mats until then. I could probably do that myself, but I want a professional to cut the openings and finish the cut edges.
I may be wrong, but I think the deal is that the cap by itself is NLA, but the tank (Tank Assy, Radiator Reserve - 16480-90A00) comes with the cap.
