I mean it’s awesome that you’re so engrossed in the mission. I would let the cleaning fall to the wayside as well in your situation I’m sure.

No idea actually. The previous owner had it done. I’ve looked all over for a part number but none I’ve seen. Maybe I need to wash them and see.

Ah, sounds like our position. Previous owner actually put springs in but not the correct hardware. It makes for some interesting noises. No need to clean them on my account, the next wave of rain will just dirty them.

This morning I got a quote for new brakes and rotors, valve cover gaskets, coil packs and plugs for my 04...

$990.

I was pleasantly surprised.

Well, with the GX in view, we ordered OME kit along with coil conversion hardware. In the meantime, I replaced the engine air filter and greased the zerks before it heads off to the shop for a new water pump and timing belt tomorrow.

More pics of the mud flaps. I used two dump truck mud flaps cut in half and some self tapping screws. Spent $50 for all four.

Sweet burley mudflaps!

I'd suggest trimming the top at an angle (rally-spec). ;)

nice clean look.

BTW, love the sliders and how you trimmed the front part of the side step is cool.

Went to Pierson Park Road yesterday near Estes Park. I bought a book of 4x4 trails in Colorado and View attachment 1751046 View attachment 1751047 View attachment 1751048 this was in there. I’ve only tried the “easy” trails so far and this was the first “moderate” one. I wanted to see how stock would handle. For the most part it was fine, I did shift into low for a tiny bit and I totally messed up the passenger running board. I probably could’ve chosen better tracks I am new to this so I’m good with it. Everyone says to ditch the running boards for sliders asap and I just confirmed something that didn’t really need reaffirmation. Anyway it was a cool drive but I will say in the book it goes through from roughly Estes to Meeker. The book was published pre flood when Estes got tore up. Now the trail ends at a halfway point and you just have to turn around and come back the way you cane. Seriously saw no other vehicle driving, saw two tents set up and two people walking. And this is in a book I bought. Loving the off road life. Those pics are not moderate anything I was clenched up too much to get pics of the rough parts!!

Nice!
Get the Moab are wells and massey books too (since wheeling CO, you'll be over here soon enough to run trails... begin the library!;)

I've pulled my running boards but no sliders or skids yet, you gain like 3" of side clearance w/o the running boards (from post tire breakover)... I've wheeled some Moab bmoderates in otherwise stock '07 (plus tires).. you'll be surprised and impressed at what these things can do stock! It keeps blowing my mind!!

Rock on!

Thanks for the pics, that looks nice for us non-smokers! I think I'll order the same. Take a pic of your overhead console!! :wrench:

I just got my hands on an Alphard OEM steering wheel with all the controls i wanted....direct swap but I was only interested in the buttons. Now that it's arrived, I'm thinking it would look nicer than my current wheel.

sport wheel! black birdseye maple!

Got the 4Runner rims on, removed the height selection switch and put in the cubby hole, leds in the running boards, xenon yellow fog light bulbs and washed it. Plotting the front lift now.....

what's on your list for a front leveling kit/lift? inquiring minds...

Vlad, you’re making me cringe! I detail cars for work! Sounds like you need a clay bar treatment for sure. Lol. I know they’re for off roading but I still try to maintain mine when it’s not on the trails just because it is still a Lexus. Officially offering forum members discounted details if traveling through northern Colorado at discounted rates. I’m kind of a gx Detailing expert at this point.
doh! Whish i'd've had time and known. Just flew through from Lincoln, NB to Moab last Monday...
passed the tornado debris in Brush...

it was crazy... Whole roof of the shell on the north side of the interstate was ripped off...

did some cleaning, but I think it will get done again, dirt everywhere

Going to be a busy week next week. Received the under armor for my sensitive bits, rear coils and shocks. Brake parts and remaining suspension should be in next week.

The local shop finished changing my timing belt and water pump, which they thought was the original one, just 70k past due. The shop discovered my brakes are far gone so new pads and rotors en route. That what you get when you buy from auction I guess...

Installing new Denso radiator tomorrow with new OEM upper and lower hoses and Toyota red coolant. Everything ended costing $315.00. Dealer wanted $1095.00 to do it. Cross your fingers for me!

@OTRAMM Did a great job for me this week. Did water pump, timing belt, pullys, radiator, thermostat and some other stuff. Followed him for years here on Mud and being 1.5hrs away it was worth the drive to have a true Land Cruiser guy work on the new truck. Thanks!

Successfully installed new radiator!
