I finished trimming out the trim from my steps today - also pushed the fender liners forward a bit. I might have to do a little more...I thought I was good and rub-free until I got on the brakes and turned at the same time, then heard the tire hit the liner. So close..

What tires and wheels do you have? Lift?

...... and did the clear gorilla tape sunroof rattle fix ( it worked).

Do tell.....mine rattles, haven't yet gotten it go stop, thx...

I ordered the upgraded Diff Support #2 before I go a brake the original inferior one. Prep prior to next years Moab trip. Now I need to figure out how to convince the Wifey that new gears are required in the back diff. That is a pricey sell. Might have to pull the family stranded in the middle of no where card!

Sorry, what is a "Diff Support #2"???

The front diff support was revised for 2006 or 2007 and the old one is known to catastrophically fail. You have a 2008 so you're good.

You get clear gorilla repair tape and build up a layer on the back of the sun roof hole (on the edge of the truck body panel where the rear of the sunroof hits). I did two layers and the rattle slowed. 4 and it stopped. No leaks in rain either.

Its unlikely to snow again for a while, so I changed out my snow tires (General Altimax Arctic on 2011 4Runner Trail Edition rims) for the summer ride (Bridgestone Dueler H/T on the factory 2008 GX470 rims), both in 265/65R17. Decided the 4Runner rims look WAY better.

Technically this was with my 120. My first skottle test before we head out for a week adventure.

Still need to heat shrink it, but the bulk of the fix is complete.

I wheeled yesterday. Wheeling again today!

How'd that work out??? Saw those last year at the Ace Hardware up north, definitely had me thinking about getting one for a while but storage/transport ultimately turned me off.

Couple days ago, installed Powerstop Z23 front brake kit. Kept original calipers for now. If they go will swap to next gen. Like the Powerstop so far. Worked fine splashing through deep puddlpuddles on the street with my kids smiling eat to ear along for the ride.

Finished my battery terminal repair with dual wall adhesive lined heat shrink tubing. I like this terminal well enough that I may replace the positive one as well.

Where did you get it?

Terminals
Heat shrink
Crimper
Lugs

I'll be ordering new terminal covers too.

Crimping the negative cable in the engine bay was interesting. I didn't want to pull the entire harness, and given that I was hitting the crimping tool with a 4lb sledge, I had to come up with a way to do that without damaging anything. I found a heavy steel bracket (looks like it's supporting KDSS hydraulics), zip-tied the crimping tool to a 2x4, and rested the 2x4 on the bracket. It worked great, with pliers to hold the assembly in place just to keep hammers away from fingers.

So far so good! It is bulky but fits in the trasharoo perfectly. The legs also fit in the molle straps so it's all together.

Used it today to make eggs while the wife made pancakes on the Primus stove. Surprised to hear you saw one at Ace Hardware? I did pick up the 5lb propane tank from Ace and it fits perfectly next to the drawers in the back.

The new "clicking" paper towel holder and led light came in handy the last few nights. Installed them both right before our trip. The led is wired into the rear cargo light and is so bright!

looks like I am going this route in the next week or so. Military terminals and some new wires.

Your setup looks awesome - man I wish I was camping seeing those two pics!

The Ace HW is "up north" - small town where we have a second home/cabin so they've got quite a lot of outdoor items not found in the usual Ace stores. Thx for the update during your trip!
