Do you have a picture of the trailer wiring plug from the backside of the bumper? Interested to see how the plug fits with the Coastal Off-road bumper and GX cross member.

From back side of frame use a long drill bit to give you a center hole in one of the holes on the cross member. Then use the appropriate size hole saw to cut through the bumper and first layer of crossmember that needs trimming. You will also need to dremmel the trailer plug housing to make it round. Insert and use self tapping to secure and viola.

Just finished my headlights today...going to start on my ironman lift tomorrow!

Ok,thanks. I could not remember if there was anyway to not drill through the cross member. I was hoping to avoid that as it’s just another place for rust to potentially start.

Picked up a Thule Motion XT XL from Rack n Road in Costa Mesa. Fitted to the Front Runner rack with the Thule load bar adapters and some older Thule Aero Blade load bars. This box is practically silent until you hit ~75mph. It’s pretty fool proof to attach as well.

Installed a Victory 4x4 molle panel to replace the saggy net. I chose this over the Rago option because it mounts flush, in case I decide to add a table down the line. Space behind the panel is pretty limited, so if that’s your priority the Rago is probably the better option. Stuff hangs off the Victory 4x4 just the same. Either option seems pricey for what it is, but they sure look cool!

Drilled an extra hole in the panel, and will mount my Element fire extinguisher with the included mount after picking up some more nuts and bolts tomorrow.

The hardest part was getting the door panel and trim off so that I could remove the screws holding the net in place and install nuts and washers on the back side. Managed to not break any clips though, which is a win in my book!

Got the Element installed. The mount works very well.

👉 Any recommendations on a small bag (maybe 8x8” footprint) with molle straps that could hang on that panel? Looking for something that I could move my mid-sized FAK into.

Also had an alignment done. On my way home, I noticed engine RPM at idle was uneven and very low—fluctuating around 500 RPM in park, and at times less than 300 RPM in drive (whether at a stop or coasting).

I tried the old turn it off/turn it back on trick after driving about 5 minutes. The idle smoothed out after about 30 seconds, and returned to the normal 700-800 RPM range.

I called the alignment shop, and their explanation was that they had to disconnect the battery while resetting the VSC as part of the re-centering/alignment. They claimed that disconnecting the battery resets the idle parameters, and the car has to relearn the idle. Not sure if I buy that or not, but the story aligns with the experience I had.

Very cool, would love a write up/how to. Which joying model did you go with?
Here is the unit I purchased on BF.

Highly recommended and a very straight forward install even for the inexperience like me!

Do you mind posting a video of the responsiveness of the Joying unit? I have a different Android unit installed and it is pretty slow to respond and sometimes crashes. Thanks!

Here's a video I took right after I installed it. I've actually been really happy with the unit besides the lack of a physical volume knob and relatively lag free so far.

Looks great! That's about a million times quicker than my existing unit. I think I'm sold.

I'm very close to clicking "Add to Cart" for this thing. Do the steering wheel controls not work like they say they are supposed to, or did you just want to be able to do it quicker with the physical knob? Thanks.
Steering controls work and is even programmable to do other things. You can have a button go to the home screen for example or mute...all you have to do is hold the button down and pick what you want it to do from a list.

The physical volume knob was more for my passenger than myself.
