Did you need any special hose clamp pliers to get the old ones off? I've got all of the parts here ready for a replacement (radiator, hoses, clamps, cap, trans fluid), just waiting for extra free time to get it all done.

A hose clamp tool with the cable and trigger really makes the job a lot easier, especially for the lower hose mount. $30 at Autozone saves a lot of headache.

I have a variety pack of pliers, but did have headaches. The bottom hose is the worst. I'd buy the tool for next time.

I did use this stuff that made getting the new hoses on easier and made it so the clamps slid on the outside to get them in place. it is also what I used to slide the thermostat housing back in after a new o-ring.

Should I try blacking out the Lexus emblem on the grill? I'm kind of liking the contrast.

Finally got my 8 gang switch box wired up for individual control of the lights.

Figured out my running lights as well. Ambers only when DRLs are on, switch over to white when the headlights are on.

Cheapy Friday. Did my zero point calibration with a paperclip (after rebuilding front end suspension last weekend).

Previous owner warped
the Prinsu rack a little. It's not really visible when all the bars are in.

Needed some grab handles for the roof rack. Saw the prices for purpose built ones. Noooooope. Industrial aluminum drawer handles for $12.99 from Amazon.....yes please. No need to buy hardware either. Comes with t- nuts and Allen head screws.

Putting the rest of the crossbars back in tomorrow along with my rooftop box.

While relocating my backup camera I found some rust hiding underneath the tailgate seal. Looks like I will need to wire wheel and sand off the rust, prime, paint, and a new seal.

Looking at replacing some burn out tail lights with LEDs. Has anyone else tried this? Does it cause any electrical issues? I had some gremlins show up when I did it on my 80.

No issues for me. I replaced all the turn signals and brake lights with LEDs back in ~2018 and have had no issues. If you replace all the turn signals with LEDs then you'll need to modify/replace the flasher module. There is a post about it on this board.

Yeah the flashers worked on my 80 with a flasher module, it was the led tail/brake lights that caused phantom voltages on the illumination circuit.

Thanks for the anecdote, I’ll give it a shot then.
