Little suspension update/upgrade time. Factory suspension was clapped out and this new stuff is oh so nice. Just did this yesterday so it will take some time to settle but I’m happy with the results so far. Have an alignment scheduled for Tuesday and then it’s time to do some more clearance work to get the tires to fit a little better

Nice!!

I've been considering this as my best choice lately!!
I'm quite eager for your reporting through time!
🤙

Installed 285 M/T’s - also removed the running boards
Nice rig! I thought I had one of the only Missouri GX's on here. I'm on the other side of the state as you (Farmington), although we also have a lot of good backroads and some decent trails over here as well.

Yes exactly. Gonna have to upgrade rear springs down the road when I add drawers, rear tire, jerrycan holders, etc
Do you have KDSS?
Which spring Pans did you go for?
I've been chatting with Mike about right parts for my specs. Just curious which setup you went with? 🤙

Mike at exit Offroad? That’s who I bought my stuff from and he was excellent to work with. I went GS59-220 with C59-350 up front and GS59-575 with C59-675V out back

Welcome! Looks really nice! What are the mods done to it?
Thanks bud!
Dobinsons MMR 3in front and long travel rear with comfort coils, dobinsons uca, RC fab gusseted spindles, Apache air bag delete, DRT cab mount relocate, full ARB skids, Lil B’s hybrid front bumper, Sherpa Quandry roof rack, 5 KMC Impact 17x9 -12 wrapped in 35x12.50 Yokohama Geolandar G003 and a Ohana Rig Supply dash mount.
It’s also an 06 w/nav and no kdss, picked it up from the 2nd owner who built it for his daughter but she wanted something smaller. Only has 128k and had the timing belt and water pump done at 85k

When we made the trip up I expected silver but was actually pleasantly surprised to find it to be gold. I can’t stop looking out at it. Parked on a stump when I got home and my wife called me dumb. She just doesn’t understand lmao

Helll yeah! these are the tundra/sequoia wheels, no? running any spacers? Looks wider to me than others I’ve seen.

They are tundra wheels, I actually got them from my wife’s tundra when she got new wheels. She gets the more expensive aftermarket wheels and I get her leftovers!

I running spidertrax spacers all around yes. So 1.25” wider all around. I think it looks good but it might be a little too offset for any larger tire without a lot of cutting

Joined the new grille club. Raptor lights connected using the tap-a-fuse connector to the ac-heater fuse #21.

I did paint the LEXUS logo flat black to conceal it a little.

I thought I had incorrectly re-installed the hood plate that catches the wire hood rod. I asked a friend to send me a picture of his stock GX470 and his photo confirmed I re-installed correctly.

Finally, I'll have to think of a way to reinforce the plastic tab on the new grille, so that it doesn't break in the future. Seems flimsy.

Finally got around to re-purposing the wiring harnesses from the old running board lights.

Despite being 16 years old, the harnesses were in great shape. Looks like lexus wrapped the plastic wire conduit in something (maybe electrical tape?) which kept the plastic and the wires in pristine condition.

I bought a set of 8 LED rock lights from Amazon, and used 6. Wired 3 to each harness and re-wrapped it all with electrical tape.

Used some aluminum angle to make brackets.

Bolted the brackets in place where the old side steps used to go.

Very nice! I plan to do the same. Do you have any output shots?

That’s a good idea to repurpose those old running board wires
