What did you do to your pig today?

with annie around, pighead and i have been neglecting the three little piggies, so he fixed his heater the other day, and i ordered new windshields for the other two. picked them up today.

will start ripping the headliners out soon and get the new headliners both hung so they can get unwrinkled, then, when we have some warm time pull the old cracked windshields and the side glass, clean up the weatherstrips and install everything....will be sooooo nice:bounce::bounce2:

Whoa, headliners, that is big time!
Good price on the windshields?

got the fzj80 e brake cable mounted and married to the fj55 e brake cable. a couple more cable clamps, and it'll be golden. it'll be weird to have an e brake after 3 years of not. the spare 55 series cable I had(cause I wasn't about to open the drum to yank the existing one) was all gunked up and froze solid. it took 2 hours of PBblaster and yanking and twisting to get it moving only to find it still bound up with crap stuck inside. I cut off the end and pulled the cable thinking it was all over right then and there, but a few more minutes with some siezmic support wire and some carb cleaner, some more pbblaster and the old cable went right back in with out a fuss.

Lambcrusher,

How did you connect the two cables, just with the clamps. Are you still useing the 55 brake handle, etc.

I just bought a 60 E-brake cable and handle, but not sure if it's going to be long enough. If you have a good way of mating the cables, that might be the way for me to go.

Thanks, Ron

Went wheeling. Summer shake down run. I prefer to wheel the 45 at the local park, but the winter pig fixes need to be tested for the big summer trips to Flat Nasty and Moab.

Have a short list of things that could work better.

Sheared all the wheel studs between the hub and spacer on a front wheel. Caught it before the wheel fell off and were able to get it on the trailer without ever loosing the wheel. Had to wheel the Tundra a bit to get it to the pig, but the pig got to a place to be able to get picked up on its own.

Drove the pig to LA, then San Diego, for family visits before camping our way back to Colorado via Joshua Tree and points still unknown. Only problem was needing to replace a tire which we watched go flat from a sidewall split immediately after we parked it at the end of 800 interstate miles. Pretty amazing to be able to cruise at 75-80 without the SBC screaming, thanks to the overdrive. And the F150 seats are to die for!

Well since Hamp is still on the other side of Texas I decided to make him keychain.

Thanks to Forerunner-Mark for the tags...

My leather skills have diminished, but I still like to braid occasionally.

Nice! I have not seen those tags before!

JackA,

Great pictures! I have nothing against jeeps, but your wagon looks so much more at home, than your buddies jeep.

Thanks for the motivation to get mine done. On a side note, we got hit with almost a foot of snow yesterday, so the desert looks real good right now.
