What did you do to your pig today? (1 Viewer)

Looks like you have about 2-3 inches more than I do now empty. Mine has lost a couple of inches since I put them on. Looks like my springs are a bit beefeir than yours, so you may settle quite a bit. I think my shackles are longer than yours too.I've been on these springs for over 15 years, and I haven't flopped it yet. Drive it around with about 6 bags of cement in the back til it settles down to where you want it. John

Those shackles!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

Got it running NICE. Friend came over today that builds hot rods. Tuned the carb on both my 40 and my pig. We also repaired a number of wiring issues. Bucket runs awesome now. Purrrrrs.

Trip to Pick and pull tomorrow to source some new seats for "Bucket" as the stock bench is junk. So worn out and crappy it's not even funny. I have some packing foam that I'm sitting on right now so the frame doesn't break my tail bone. hahaha.

installed a speedometer cable from cruisercorps.com and it works great, actually a tad bit long ( and longer then advertised) but I am happy as I ordered it on friday morning and got it monday...around 30$
all the websites do not list this as working on a 55 but it does.. it is the same clip on the back of the speedometer as my 78 40 and the transfer case is the same 78 pig
Advice on the install:
I had to remove almost all the bolts holding the steering column in to get the speed o out,, to make sure the clip grabs.
keep the bag that is taped on the transfer case end of the speed o cable on until you go to connect it to the transfer case as the wire will slip out, the bag holds it in and makes sure you can get it in the head.

I have lost the other washer parts that came off the original cable (but who knows if it was really original??) and just installed this as it came, and so far no problems.

I also installed a stainless battery tray, had to space out the nuts as my battery is shorter then the threads on the j hooks... but I am very happy with it. A bit of advice, I wanted the j part pointing away from the battery as to not rub a hole, install this J before bolting the tray to the fender wall.

Anyone know how to re-solder the wires to the rear window switch?

John, in regards to not having flopped yet, it's a gosh dang miracle. I think every time we ever went wheeling, there was an "Oh sh*t!" moment, and everyone thought for sure you were going over!

He he.. small world. I guess your piggy must have been BA enough for me to snap a picture of it as I walked past.

Yeah, I know....it's just that Inkpot's is way further from the ground than mine!:)
I figure if I can wheel a SO Piggy for 25 years without flopping it, I am mighty lucky, or I ain't wheeling it hard enough. Good thing that broken Birfs, pinions, driveshafts, inner axles, LockRights, and radiators don't count. Unfortunately, I am planning on selling it before I can ruin my record. John

What is with all these Pigs turning over?

What do you mean al.these pigs? I stayed upright. We already know bks has an inner ear disorder and is medically inclined.to going over and if you look at pigheads pic, you can see bks aura causing twrecks to go over....that's only two ;)

ive had a couple flops, but they dont count as rolls, kinda like twrecks above and one of them was all the way over resting on the pass side drip rail. that was the one that smacked the a pillar hard enough to pop the windshield about 6ft past the hood, fun times.
