Getting ready to rebuild the front knuckles and wheel bearings on a HZJ73. Also going to do the full conversion to manual hubs from the e-hubs. Getting everything from Cruiser Outfitters. Still putting together everything I think i need. I found a bearing and seal driver kit on amazon

  • Bearing driver set includes 1pc driver and 9 different size collars/discs:39.5mm, 44.5mm, 50mm, 59mm, 63mm, 65mm, 72mm, 76mm and 81mm
Can anyone confirm these sizes will get me through the job. I am finding these are the ones people use for an 80 series rebuild, but can't find anything definitive on a 70 series, and I don't know for certain the 80 series has the same parts.

Thanks,

Sean
You need a brass drift to remove the old races. And a tool to remove oil seals comes in handy.
To install the new races: Cut a slit in the old race and use it as collar to drive in the new races with a plastic faced hammer.
The slid enables easy removal of the old race.
My tools:
Mayhew Pro 25076 1/2 Zoll gerändelt Messing Durchtreiber, 25076 https://amzn.eu/d/i8iyePV
Silverline 282610 Dichtungsabzieher 320 mm https://amzn.eu/d/dVmZ1NZ
Good Luck Ralf

Looks like a perplexed kiddo there. 😂😂
Very perplexed!
This was mid figuring out the axle didn’t match the rest of the rig. Everything pulled apart and literally the first new piece to go in, the axle oil seal, being the wrong size!

Replaced my window frame today as the original one was rusting in a few places…. Now I just gotta find a place to pull the old window ( without breaking it) and put it in the new frame and gasket….. without breaking!!!!

I drove down to San Felipe to see the Baja 1000. Shockingly we got poured on. Anyway, I finally got the pressure washer out and cleaned all the Baja off. Tomorrow I'll do my semiannual fluid film treatment. Ih8rust.

I have been waiting a long time but it finally has become reality and I have 73/74 aftermarket rear quarter panels available , can’t wait to install a set and see how the fit is compared to oem where unfortunately only the lh is available anymore and the one on the left in the box is oem to do a direct comparison.

My problem with buying extra parts, is I forget that I did it and then buy the same thing again. Or I forget where I put them/can't find them, until I do buy them again, then find the item I already had when I go to put the new one away.

Been there a couple of times. I will try to keep these bulbs in an area where I will remember that I have them.

Not sure why I bought extras or why I even bother....oh yeah.....because we think we will own these cruisers forever.

Completely relatable!

Very nice, thanks for showing the part numbers! Are those 24 volt variety?

They are all 24V bulbs. Can’t remember if your cruiser is 12V or 24V.

The 12V ones seem very easy to get here in the states.
