...guess I really should do something about those fluids, filters, shocks, tires, wires...

I got the rear axles, rear brakes and LSPV system all back together.

Filled the rear diff with this stuff.

Looked like a strawberry milkshake.

Brakes work much better.

Kinda interesting how Toyota retained the top mount Intercooler on the V8 while doing away with the hood scoop.

i wonder why they insist on a top mount tho....

Leave the V8 engine the same to avoid redevelopment costs? Also the front intercooler mounts on the 300 series don't seem to be going so well but I only read of a couple cases where they failed.

I wonder if there’s a significant “efficacy” difference between the scooped-hood and the new design?

Mmmm.... how'd it taste? 🫣

In all seriousness now, nice work on the rear brakes and LSPV system. When I did mine, and properly adjusted my LSPV, the difference was very noticeable, especially when pulling a trailer.

Christmas has arrived early! After spending more than two weeks in a Bulgarian postal sorting warehouse my Webasto Thermo Top C finally made its way to Montana.

How are these types of roofs secured?
A lot of polyurethane adhesive/caulk! And 8 physical mounting points. There are 3 angle brackets on each side that bolt from the OEM roof support brackets to the top and 2 through bolts at the rear.

In all reality, once set, it’s the adhesive doing all the holding. I used sikaflex 227, which was very difficult to work with. Others have used sikaflex 221, but I have no experience with that one.

I think I posted a pic of the LSPV's piston showing scoring damage from crusty particles.
I believe the piston was stuck in the down position and not sending much fluid to the rear brakes.
I might replace the hard line from the front with copper/nickel pipe since the crud may have been rust in the piping.

Edit
Here's the pic

I think my battery is junk….well I thought that since last year.

It’s been pretty cold/single digits all last week and the cruiser sat in hay shed, no door. Went to start it Saturday, it was around 18F and she wouldn’t fire.

Upper left is voltage…that’s not gonna start it.
Bottom left is block temp.

I also think my ignition cylinder is sketchy. I’m cold it’s always a few second pause before the starter fires.

Headed an hour and half south to West Kelowna yesterday to a friends house to help him with some fall tasks and check out a "new to him" 42 year old 60 series.

It has some nice features like a new OME suspension, new tires, stereo system and speakers, and nicely done new leather upholstery.

We noted several areas where there would need to be some attention given right away, and some areas where eventually it would be nice to address that when I have more time to dedicate kind of things. Overall, it seemed to have decent bones to work with...
