Stripped the entire back today, happy to only find 1 little rust hole. Laid down some sound deadening mats and and forgot to take an after picture. Cheers guys

Since everyone else is getting FTEs these days, I didn't want to be left out. Supposedly 8000KMs on it....looks pretty clean(had been sitting for a while in a barn around chickens). A750 5speed automatic and a part time transfer. Unfortunately no ECU and some of the other stuff that we'll need but that stuff can be sourced. This one will find a home in a very special build :)

The Tacoma would have probably preferred not to haul it back 500 miles :(

Nice.
First thing, take that EGR and throw it in the bin immediately.

Hope to hear about a successfull install. Better yet will be to hear that it's easy to make the electronic engine work. Good Luck!

I put LED signal lamps in.
Re-installed the rack I made to hold camping gear.

Finally, after 3 months I finished the TD04l-13t conversion on the 13bt, everything fits nicely and well. Everything seemed too easy….

I turn the engine over to get some oil through the turbo, after a couple seconds I give it a full crank…. All I could see was grey smoke. I let it run a little and the idle is really rough. I’m thinking bad fuel for sitting so long. No oil or coolant leaks. After turning it on and off a couple times I couldn’t get it to turn over so I figured I would come back to this another day (week)

I’m going to add some stabilizer and fill up my tank since it’s on E. Drain the sediment filter and replace the fuel filter. I might as well change the oil while I’m at it.

Any opinions?

did some other things.

OEM splits on.

Yep, I would pull all the filters and put new fuel in. New diesel goes bad pretty quickly but some diesel cleaner, Liqui Moly Diesel purge wouldn't hurt at all.

Figured out why my diesel gauge wasn't working! I was able to clean it up and get it working for the time being.

now to figure out my rpm gauge. Rpm sensor resistance is in spec, so need to keep investigating.

Ran a few trails in Uwharrie after yesterdays heavy rains. Mostly dried up, but did find a few sections rougher/more washed out than in the past. It's about an hour on the highway drive for me and this is the first long drive with the new 17" radiator fan direct drive with no fan clutch. AC blows colder especially in traffic. Normally my temp guage runs 20-30% into the span between L and H. Last summer on hot days with AC on at interstate speed it would climb up to the midway point and start higher and I'd have to back off. Today I ran about 5 miles on the interstate at 72mph with air con on, EGT's between 620-720C boost at 10-12PSI (yes burning some fuel), and my temp guage never went past 30% to the H. The fan is a drag on the engine and probably adds 30-50 degrees C to the EGT's, but the coolant temp is under control..................................Based on this and what some others have said. 17" and no fan clutch may be overkill, but a bigger than stock radiator fan seriously helps a modified diesel 70 series with engine heat issues................The whirring fan/WWII jeep sound when tooling around a parking lot also has a certain cool factor to it.
