70 series wheels on a 70....should have gone with these from the start. Love the look and I know these will be approved by @AlbertoSD 10000% :)

A few minor things today....
Proffitt's had actually drilled a hole in the top plate of the brushbar to mount the CB antennae which put it very close to the headlight assembly. It's now moved out and away from expensive things that can break.

The OEM dome light wouldn't attract a lonely moth. It will now.

Didnt seem prudent to install a slightly crusty fairlead onto a new brushbar so I opted for a new one.

.... and thanks to some of Odd Iron's LED magic I'm no longer breaking Georgia law by not having a tag light.

With the help of Rob Smith, the de-Proffitt-tizing of the truck is mostly complete. Now it's time to simply enjoy it.

Where did you get that mount from?

It moves the antennae outside of the body so if you go under a limb or other obstacle, the antennae won't whack the fender. (In theory anyway).

Looks like your winch cable is glad to see you!
New cable, it's a tad stiff. You'll now see that it's more family friendly.

New brake calipers ...... she no longer seeks the left ditch when you apply the brakes. :)

I started repairing the back door hinge. I drilled out the old jammed pin, now I know the dimensions of the bearing bushes so I can order a suitable one and make a new pin from tool steel.

Oh yeah, while repairing the hinge, I also painted the car. 🙂

I'm going to try and drill out the hinge pins on my drill press and replace with a grade 8 bolt of same or larger size and some nuts. Tired of having to lift the right rear door to shut it and the diesel fumes leaking in around the seals.

Went on a short road trip and did some exploring the past couple days. LC is running fine after the turbo install. Hours on the road and original seats, springs, and bushings are wearing on my butt and back. At a minimum I will get new bushings and at least one new seat. Looking at suspension seats used in tractors and heavy equipment. Thinking about getting some new springs maybe OME with 1-2" lift. Rubber bushings and not poly.................It has been many years since driving my 72' FJ40, but in my memory the BJ73 rides much rougher and bouncy in comparison. Much more like a jeep..

I see that is an isolated mount. How was the ground-plane addressed? That is critical to correct antenna function.
Oh, I don't actually have radios. The antennaes are there simply because they look cool.

** I'll look into the ground-plane issue.
