Back to headphones. I love Matthew Sweet’s ‘Girlfriend’ album. There are LOTS of guitars, and they can be busy at times, but their panning makes them a headphone dream. It’s like a whole new record now! Lots of his stuff is actually done that way, even drum tracks.

I’m gonna eventually get some Sonos speakers for the house (thanks @mtweller ) but s*** like this (and AC/DC and Black Crows) is why I’m also saving for a real tube amp and some Heresy’s. There is no substitute for L/R separation. I need to make the most of it while I have the space in this house. The eventual tiny house (:() will not be conducive to large speakers.

I DO love my Sonos. While not audiophile quality (it's digital streaming after all), I don't think my ears are anymore anyway. Way to many shows, guns, and power tools. I'm still searching for top quality earbuds for the plane, so I'm listening folks :)

As a kid, I watched this video and thought "This is what I wanna do. They look like weirdos and it's less technical than hair/speed/thrash metal so I can probably pull it off". (Ya know, cause shred guitar was still huge at this Pre-Cobain transitional moment.) As an adult, I watch this video and wonder what the hell I did wrong in life to miss out on making my dream pay off big time. Oh, that's right. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden. Everybody sounded the same but you weren't s*** if you weren't in Seattle. But, I mean, I had long hair and flannel...WTF??? Then I watched many friends from the road make the move out west and suffer more failure than they had at home, so I'm not complaining, just venting as I ponder life and it's strange course.

Sennheiser headphones and old school Acoustic Research Speakers. My two tools of “near audiophile quality sound without the ridiculous price tag”.

FNM's "Epic " was playing on my way home from getting dinner. havent heard falling to pieces in a long time.

We have 2 pairs of inexpensive mpow1 bluetooth headphones from amazon. I wouldnt know what to do with audiophile level stuff anymore, other than be nervous about how much it costs

Check out the guitar playing back up singers

Wow . . . nice video w/ Keith Richards and Chuck Berry :)

People who are my age know Linda Ronstadt as late 70s and early 80s as a country singer. They don't know that she was THE s*** in the late 60s and early 70s as a rock star - she DROVE acts to success like Jackson Browne, The Eagles and others. This video shows her "pull" still with one of the greats and one of the greats to be . . same stage!!

Josh Ritter live at App State as part of eTown broadcast. Heather and I got to go to this live. Was lotta fun to be part of a concert and a radio show.

Another great one from Chapel Hill's Mandolin Orange from that same concert:

In a 70's mood today. Climax Blues Band hits the spot.
