Just a quick note.

Anyone that says the placement will get in the way of egress more than likely hasn't had to slide into a truck that has a floor mounted FE like these. The 5lb FE I have in the passenger foot well doesn't get in the way at all when Im getting in or out. It is out of the path which your feet travel when getting in or out, next time you get in your truck take note of where your feet are swinging and you'll understand.

yeah I haven't had the issue myself but then I don't drag my feet along the seat mounting to get in. Dunno :meh:

But those same people are right about losing out on that comfort room when going Cruise Control. No way around it. Safety isn't always convenient :P

In Pic #3 of post # 84, You have only been testing with flip flops and size 9's. The last time I was 'wheeling in flip flops was............never. I use my truck and DD it and I wear steel-toe size 13E boots. Any thoughts there for interference with Bigfoot? I usually use the big feet to simply stomp out the forest fires......

I have been looking at places for FE, but the best place I saw as far as room goes is the step in the back seat by the door. Now, that's a bit inconvenient when the need comes, but it is a place.

I'll have you know I'm a 10.5 dammit :flipoff2:

I had no idea people wore anything other than flip-offs, who knew?

I have a pair of my Danners that I can slip on and try it out for you ;)

I wear a pair of 12E Carolina Steel toes and when I sit in the passenger seat I don't have any issue with the FE.

I'm not ready for the FE yet, but wanted to provide input for the front-end design. I find the driver's seat quite cramped in pretty much all directions except the top of my head, but I love my 80. I think for the majority, you have a great location and concept.

Well, why are you sitting over there? Do you have a RHD unit? :flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2:

Thanks for that @BILT4ME
I needed to start from somewhere and just check off all the boxes so I can go into production and focus my energy on the 38 (no joke) other projects so I can release them ;)

Hmmm who would have thought?? ;) lol

Ok so...did some more testing and this time with the Halon bottle. In reality, the H3R's Halon bottle quick release bracket will suck. It takes very little effort to just shuffle your feet around and then sproing! The latch is open. One way of mitigating this is to mount the entire extinguisher 180º. This put the latching mechanism on bottom. Still very easy to open but less likely to bump it open, even after testing. The thing I don't like about that solution is that it puts the nozzle pointing up. I'm not worried about misfire since its an inert gas, but I am concerned about anything falling into the wide mouth nozzle and possibly clogging it. Very bad. Of course, the issue goes away if you are using any of the common push/pull pin releases readily available. You will also notice where the extinguisher is mounted relative to the bracket. It needs to be there because a lot of the nozzles protrude past the body of the extinguisher.

Also to clarify, I marked where I am adding the Toyota button knock-out and the two waterproof switch knock-outs.

For sure interested in one for the passenger side. I had the same concern as others with it getting loose down by my pedals but the passenger can deal with that. Just a thought but would there be a way to have the whole mount on a quick release? Maybe two brackets that bolt down with seat bolts and pins to remove the entire mount? We all drop our cell phones, pens, change for french fries, just figured it would be cool not to have to get out tools to possibly access under the mount.

I actually meant for your entire product with the F/E and its provided bracket to be removed quickly. Dig the design and I would buy it even if it means removing seat bolts for access underneath it. I had just read thru the pages and thought that might be a nice feature.

Yup, knew what you meant. My last company designed quick releases for the entertainment industry.

Have you found any mount for the extinguisher you like better. I have been considering the drake one but didn't know if it would push the extinguisher out onto the foot space too much.
