I didn't doubt you, like I said, I hadn't seen photos of how bad it was, and without that, my idea of acceptable might have been easier to match than some others. The discoloration I could have lived with, the "powderizing' I cannot. I can't imagine what it would have looked like if I had used black. Imagine spraying lamp black all over a white engine bay. It'd be way worse than that.
Absolutely. After installing the swaybar, I noticed a difference turning around in the yard. The Delta bracket fixed the rear end steering and jiggle. The swaybar keeps it flat and stable in the corners and makes the rear less lively offroad to push the radius arm front to flex more.

My 99 LX throws it intermittently, seems to happen in stop & go in hot weather. Drives fine otherwise.
Research shows people throwing a huge list of parts at it with no smoking gun - MAF clean/replace, fuel filter and/or pumps, PCV valve, intake manifold gaskets, cats/O2 sensors, EVAP canister, fuel cap, etc.
New alternator in the diesel benz today. Had to take out the charge pipe to remove the alternator. Bolts for charge pipe can't be had with the alternator in place...... fun juggling that lol.

Next up, intake removal and cleaning, new fuel lines to and from the filter, new injectors, and finally install the new damn turbo.
Alt went out a while back but putting the new engine in the acura and doing classes took priority. Will be nice to het back to driving it..... now off to the car wash.
Not wrenching, but preventative action so I don't have to wrench. After spending far too much time cleaning leaves and other trash from under my cowl panel, I decided to get lazy.
One sheet covers both vents, with about 1/3 of the 12x24 sheet left over. I wouldn't leave them in direct sunlight, the vinyl will soften too much and droop, but they do the job. They stay on perfectly well around town. I wouldn't recommend them on the highways or interstates, or in a car wash. I really don't care what they look like, they're only intended for the driveway. If you wanted to, you could run them through the printer.
Maybe when I get bored, I'll round the corners and trim the top to match the windshield. Maybe not.
My oldest hung with me in the shop this afternoon and started work on her truck. Both our trucks were getting the front ends removed to prep for pulling the engines. Worked out well. I demonstrated on my truck and she followed along on hers. She caught on quick and got everything stripped away from around the engine. Didn’t get pics of the final product because we were both covered in PB Blaster and rusty grime…just wanted a shower and some dinner.
Setting doors on a 60. If you're done this you know how time consuming and sometimes frustrating it can be to get everything aligned. Drill two 1/8 holes in each plate before you take the doors off. Body side of the job is pre aligned going back together. Worked like a charm!
Holes in the hinges and body will be filled with seam sealer and painted. Hardware is painted with epoxy primer and will be painted with color when all complete.
Thanks - yeah, second sound seems so similar to that tinny flywheel grind, but I can't figure out how something other than starter would be contacting it. Motor/trans mounts wouldn't change what the flywheel would contact, but I'll check them out and see if something else is rattling down there.
Only happens when engine is still cold and accelerating from stop. Changes with throttle input intensity, goes away when you pull foot off the gas. I had a beater 100 series a few years ago with 320k, and it made the same sound in the same situation.

Heat shields on the exhaust probably have broken tabs. Wrap long worm drive clamps over them. Tighten till they strip and back them off a quarter turn.
