It will definitely do the job. But...you can burn diesel crud off. Heat it hot enough to burn and then feed it with compressed air until it's clean. That won't work with gas engines, though; not enough flammable in the carbon deposit. The Carbon Off is much cleaner to use, though. Not as exciting, but cleaner.
Yeah thats how I normally do it. My brother has my compressor for the next month.

Hmmm may try this, gointbto take the intake off the diesel benz for a cleaning
Just a thought: Carbon-Off isn't labelled as a degreaser, and when I used it, my intakes were thoroughly degreased. The diesel intake may be oilier than the gas (I can't see how it wouldn't be).

I don't think there could be any adverse (to you or the metal) chemical incompatibility between Carbon-Off and any degreaser (I used HD Industrial Purple diluted as above), because their both alkaline and I didn't see any reactive chemicals in the MSDS lists.

I just mention this because I had to apply it twice, because the carbon was so thick in places; it won't dissolve what it doesn't touch. It keeps working through what it has dissolved, but the oil may act to insulate the carbon. IDK, just a guess.

I'd also highly recommend a Ø2.5" bottle brush with a flexible wire spine to get around the interior corners. I didn't have one when I cleaned mine, but I will next time.

Anyone have any experience with adding the Howell fuel injection on a 2f or any kit using the Chevy throttle body?

Finally putting this girl back together. The plan is to drive this truck to relic run. Will be towing her to Moab for cruise moab and finalizing plans to drive her to California rubithon in august.

@Trollhole used to have a caddy (5.7?) recipe for TBI success. Would be worth searching his posts from years past or reaching out.

I thought you already installed this one?

New kingpins in moonshine. Assume the first ever for this axle, doubt the army did this for the cucv with 40k miles on it before I got my hands on it. 37 year maintenance interval is fine right?

I’ll reach out and see what he thinks this weekend going to go back through step by step of the install and make sure everything is where and installed as it should be, wants to idle at like 2000 rpm without the idle screw even touching.

Not sure if maybe it’s something timing wise or whatever but it was idling at 1100 or so hit a big ass puddle died got it running a week or two ago and now I’ve got a high idle but who knows. Sure it’s something minor I’m overlooking

Following the axle rebuild trend.

Front is done, finally, after waiting on misc parts. Knuckle rebuild, new brakes, wheel studs, new TRE’s, steering stabilizer, locking hubs, backing plate delete, u bolts, all new hardware, paint etc.

It looks like you are using the same Centric GCX coated rotors that I used on Dusty, my '82 40. Let me know how they work out in the long run. I only had about 5 minutes of drive time on mine and then I proceeded to render my truck inop for the unforseeable future. Those rotors look t@ts though!

Good eye, that's exactly what they are. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Back to Leon. All jambs, inner doors, gate and hatch, inside doors all stripped to metal, prepped and being sprayed with epoxy primer
Lots of exposed metal inside a 60. More when you dump the plastic in the back and the wrap over door cards.

Thank you sir.

Does anybody know where I might possibly find AN fittings locally ?
Does anyone have any ?

I already ordered the piece I need but won’t be here until Wednesday.
I need to try to start the truck and test the sniper efi today if possible. The current piece I used, which I happened to have and thought it would work, is not the correct fitting so I have a fuel leak which won’t let the system start the truck.

This are photos of the piece I need.

6 AN fitting 3/8 female free spin 90 degree elbow. Compatible with soft line
So if you know where or how I can get one locally preferably today. Please reach out to me.
Thanks.

Shame you are not closer Del. Not sure if you know but make sure you use the correct hose. Regular 3/8 fuel line will leak.

I used the line that came with it.
