Troopy Rear Duct Situation

There are numerous makers... a guy in Aus who sells them and a guy in the UAE who seems intent on only selling to the local market.

I can send the duct piece we are trying to eliminate... but you actually need the vent, right?
Yeah need both pieces so I know what I’m designing around.

This may be common knowledge but all vents are not created the same. The vent on a 79 Series, single cab for example is considerably larger than one on the earlier 75 Series, single cab. I don’t know if that’s true for other Land Cruisers.

I’m under the impression, perhaps incorrectly, that all of the “narrow nose“ Land Cruisers will have the same vent. The different vents may only apply to the 75 and 79 Series Utes.

It appears the narrow nose vent system fits until 2006. That should have you fully covered in the US minus some outliers with creative ways of having the new style. I'd say 95% of the buyers or more would have this one.

Just make it for any year 70/73/74/76/77/78 series. Like @FJBen said...that will probably reach 95% of the market because I am sure it is one size fits all for those iterations...at least from the outer L and W dimensions of the vent.

The 75/79 owners will just have to ask for a different version but it is a much smaller market stateside. The end.

All the "full-body" 7x vehicles use the same outer vent grilles and the same part number fits both sides. 62951-90K00.

Pickups excluded.

You would have to expect the pickup guys to not play by the rules. 😁

I've been staring at these vents for far too long....

Saw this pop up on the Gram. Not as elegant as a flip-up style vent but it's something.

That looks fantastic.

I wonder if having one unmolested cabin vent is enough to properly vent the cabin when a door (or doors) are shut.

@Gun Runner 5 - isn't it primarily about the pressure difference when closing doors?
I would think so. I’m just wondering what would be the result of removing one from the equation.

There are two vents to balance the airflow through the cabin and to allow airflow when the mode is set to fresh. One is enough to deal with the pressure of a closing door. Where you may have a flow restriction would be with the mode set to fresh and the blower on high with all the windows closed.
