He guys. I've had a few inquiries about some different accessories and setups. Some of you may be holding off on the group buy because you may want a different configuration, etc. So I thought I'd give a bit of insight into what configurations and accessories I plan to offer in the near future.

I plan to make a removable "top" for the fridge slide area. It will work with the existing system and create a full flat deck for day-to-day chores. I also plan to offer a removable sleeping platform that will attach to the front of the existing system for those that like to sleep in their rigs or just need more hard deck storage. This is all assuming we have real demand, of course. It's too expensive to develop a new product to sell a handful. I've also had a few inquiries about a mirrored System Alpha- fridge slide on the right. I've put it on the left for many reasons, which I won't go into in this post. But, I'd take the time/money to make a mirrored system for those that want it given enough real demand. I'd also like to have a host of accessories such as dog beds, lighting and switch kits, and drawer inserts- dividers, foam, etc. Please feel free to pm me with your product requests- I will listen! But first we need to get some systems out there...

Let's get this going!

David

Dave,

Keep me posted with sleep platform.

Great system David, I am just not sure how many 100 series guys have $3K to drop on your world class drawers. Good luck with your new business venture.

Thanks! Well, hopefully there's a few folks waiting until the last minute. There sure was a lot of interest throughout the last year. Here they are! Don't make me design strictly for jk's!;)

It's high end to say the least. I spent time with the system and appreciate the design and ingenuity as I'm sure you do.

To answer your question from my perspective - I spent 2200 for OS drawers and a Speski barrier. I'm not alone. After dropping that on OS system I could easily justify the extra 6 on Dave's COMPLETE system. It's that good. But honestly there are so many items you can spend on for this hobby; 3-4k for a hard shell tent, 5k on Slee Bumpers, 5k on lockers/gears installed, 2k on RadFlo Shocks, 1k on a refrigerator, 2k on a good stereo.... the point? The price point fits right in with other "investments". A drawer system was an invaluable addition for me, I just wish that I didn't buy the OS's.

Just wanted to second RobRed's observations.

In addition, based on my personal experience of trying to build something similar (but smaller, and less technical--though much inspired by TrekBoxX prototype), I think these prices are very reasonable. If one places ANY financial value to their own time, I think building something of similar quality to these would be very difficult to do at this or a lower price point [I'm sure someone could, but I know from first hand that I could not.]

Thumbs up for a great solution!

Looking forward to seeing the system at hundreds in the hills.

Look awesome, seriously, super rad. would be cool if you offered a minimalist kit, I know I would definitely pick one up. I don't need them to look OEM, hell, raw wood would be fine by me... i have no problem finishing it all myself. Maybe cheaper latches...no bb slides, maybe just HDPE sliders?

The price is just too steep for me. For that money I could get a bumper..

I definitely appreciate all the comments and criticism. Yes, these systems are top of the line, but I think I've priced them quite aggressively for what they are. It's your decision if they are right for you and your budget. I'll say it again to echo the above posts- after building one myself I assumed many would come to the same conclusion- it's not worth it. Yes, you could buy a very nice bumper for the same price. And you should buy one as well, if you'll use, need, or want it. But I guarantee any drawer system will be one of the most used pieces of gear on your truck. How often do you "use" your 200lb plate bumper? I don't use mine at all, but I'm glad I could if I needed it.

I've had other requests for a "budget" system. But that's not what Trekboxx is. No offense, but it's like asking a high end auto maker to just make you a Yugo. It's not what they do. I've tried to develop the high-end system, and I think I've done so very successfully given the competition. And percentage wise the price difference is not much. I'll reference another thread on expedition portal where a member related they paid $3,000 for the OS system with cargo barrier, divider, and shelf. My System Alpha comes in at $3450 with all of the above plus some. It's just another option!

Cheers,
David

I also want to congratulate you on finally getting these to market. As you recall, I built my own attempting to copy your design a bit (flattered?). It was difficult and time consuming. Although I saved some cash and am proud of the diy, your system is a fantastic example of a well built, professionally offered accessory.
Job well done. I hope all the r and d pays off.

I can vouch for the drawers in my 100 being one of the most used accessories...probably only eclipsed by the fridge/freezer. So make sure you get what will keep you smiling with each use!

No offense taken, and I hope I didnt offend, it was not my intention. In my eyes, Im thinking a "budget" system as more along the lines of the race car that doesnt have the fancy navigation, leather, and seat warmers. Still high quality, but without the additional creature comforts that draw the higher price tag. But i guess it IS a 100 series haha and I do have leather and seat warmers :)

No offense taken! It would be nice to please everyone, but I had to decide on a direction and stick with it. And unfortunately for me, super OCD builds are what I'm good at!

Honestly, nothing wrong with that! Looking forward to hearing how much everybody loves em!
Happy 4th everyone!
