If you are running the 3FE in a 92, then the TRD kit would not work. Don't know of any kit for a 3fe. John

No my cruiser is a 1996. My username is Bella 1992, because my very first Land Cruiser was a 1992. That's when I first joined mud, but now I have upgraded to the 4.5 L motor!

There are several recent threads on this forum about availability / options. The TRD kit is no longer available from Toyota. John

I have been in contact with Bullet Cars regarding the Sprintex Supercharger.

Here was his response pertaining to cost:
Hi Bob

We can ship a kit to you.
A brochure with current prices is attached.
It used to be $3995 NON intercooled 3 years ago.
it is now$4500 AUD ( on current exchange rate that's about $3700US).
The intercooler kit is an additional $1995.AUD.
The tuning system with 2bar map sensor and dual map switch is $1200 or you can use a Unichip.
Shipping by TNT to 85028 is $575
Supercharger has its own oil. Dual battery is OK. Trans cooler stays in place.
Regards
Tom
So it looks to be around $7500 + labor to install. I asked if anything had to be moved and he says duel batts. and the factory tranny cooler stay in place. Not sure where the intercooler goes...but it is water to air. The performance numbers seem more impressive than TRD's but with performance comes more heat:worms:Anyway, it is an alternative to a V-8:cheers:

The performance #s of the Sprintex are better than the TRDs cuz it's comparing apples to oranges. They're comparing a non-intercooled TRD supercharger on a stock ECU & fuel system to the intercooled Sprintex setup with additional injectors + ECU reflash. That's how it makes 50% more power (vs the TRD which only makes 25% more power). FYI.

Still not a bad option. I'm just not so hot on the idea of depending on an aftermarket secondary injector setup. If that fails...

Any SC TRD or Sprintex for the age of my rig is like a new saddle for the old hore

Skip the engagement and just get a room, you two.

I have no experience with them but cxracing.com has turbo kits on their site listed for the 80 for under $2000. I would imagine for that price that is a cheapie turbo and stock fueling but at least there is a kit out there. Would love to hear about one. Anyone?

I wouldn't waste your money... Get the Treadstone manifold, decent turbo and run your own lines. Either way you still have to drill and tap and weld for oil lines. And their IC won't fit with any aftermarket bumper I know of.

Good point

I've been scanning posts and can't find anything on scheduled maint for the kazuma trd sc... Does anyone have any insite?

CX Racing has been around for several years. They make good $$ cuz they sell kits that are like 1/4 of the price of a real, well designed, complete turbo kit. It's just like a cheap Chinese Ebay kit. Thin walled piping, weak clamps, and poorly fitting couplers. There are a few guys on the MR2OC Forum running their IC's (the only good thing in their kits), but even those don't come with a fan or shroud.

So if you just want ANYTHING to make you more power, without regard for how poorly constructed and poorly fitting it'll be, knowing you'll have to likely go back and redo it later, sure, they're an option ;) Otherwise, just remember that you get what you pay for.

Unless I score a BNIB TRD Supercharger someone's been holding onto, I'm gonna prob. take the plunge and get the Sprintex unit, but use my own air-to-air IC via a hood scoop (like a WRX). Stock fuel system though. The truck is the most reliable thing I own, even though it's one of the oldest things I own lol. Trying to keep it like that :)
