I'm glad it helped - in my case I got even more depressed because I was doing this the day before a week long road trip - and realized I was going to have to explain to my wife why I was spending $500 to rent a car for our vacation!

Umm, you weren't kidding about it being close. But I do love a tight fit. If you got time, please see if you could make it work without the relocation.

Tried. The end links are permanently bent by the relocation kit. Also the bushings are hosed by being at that angle. Sooo I'll need new end links to even attempt it.

Another reason to not bother with 35s.

Thanks for the try man, rubber just isn't designed to be mashed like that permanently. Looks like to make that kit right, it needs to be paired with some heim joint links.

Yup, I was researching doing just that a couple of weeks ago. Pressing them in.

Maybe I'll snag some new links and give it another go at some point.

You can relocate your end links to the outside of the bracket. Cut a solid spacer to fill the bracket with the correct size hole for your bolt to pass thru and that takes care for of not bending your new end links. I did that and its been fine. I check it every so often. No concerns. Thats if you keep the sway bar relocation brackets. But replace your hosed bushings.

I remember you posting pics of that. That's definitely an option I'm considering. First thing is ordering new links though.

Also considering uni-ball joints.

Noticed my UCA was shifted forward and the bushing was exposed. Looks like the bushing collar broke off. Weird stuff. Plenty of moly was put on during installation and everything was in the proper orientation (washers and whatnot). I emailed SPC, hopefully they'll give me a new set of bushings. Otherwise I'll add those to the maintenance order list.

Every man likes storage, be it boxes or bags full of tools or various equipment. Blue Ridge stuff is nice but I didn't want to sell an organ just to buy a canvas bag.

I bought these from @cruzerDave to replace the horrendous bags I bought from Harbor Fraught. Nice, quality, fabric, great zippers and they don't cost a fortune. The only complaint is, I want about 5 more bags but he's out of stock. :)

The sockets and box ends are tied together with paracord, not just thrown in there.

Great action shot, and glad you like'em! I've more on order, should have them shipping by end of the month.

If you want more I suggest you order them now... ;)

Looks like you robbed a bank;)

Edit: not a knock at all, I really like those for the reasons you mentioned. I'll be ordering some - the old husky steel box from HD is way too noisy.

I might need to do this soon. All my tools and recovery gear are stuffed in one of these. Amazingly I've been able to squeeze sockets, a tool kit, shackles, ropes, wrenches, etc in it, but getting rid of the plastic cases for the tool kit and sockets (which take up a lot of space in the bag) would be a big help.

After all the nonsense I put this thing through, I start it up this morning and see this. Blinking 4LO with check engine and trac off. Not in limp mode. I was too lazy to find my techstream cable so I swung by the dealer, they wanted $55 to diagnose. Nope, drove home and found my cable, hooked up techstream, cleared codes. All gravy now. I did clean my engine so I guess water got somewhere.

Moral of the story, buy a techstream cable.

Tony what are you running the techstream cable to? Are you using an ODB scanner or your computer or what? I need to learn how to use these. Next tool to pick up. :))

Gotcha.......so Torque is what? A software?

Hah...nevermind. Google answered my question. More kit to invest in. :)

thanks

I'll offer this up... The guy that does my annual inspections and occasional maintenance used to be a tech at a big dealership, he told me to never let the gas pump go beyond the first shutoff when filing up, don't try to squeeze any more in the tank. If any gas overflows it flows down into the charcoal canister and trips the MIL, which can be difficult to get resolved. He says sometimes they have to replace the canister which is $$$.

Yup...me thinks they got their canisters wet......maybe more than once. All the driving at various angles and bouncing...maybe different altitude changes, air pressure changes too, all added to giving the canister a good dousing. At least that is what I have heard happens even with some cars just on the road topping their tanks off too high. I was thinking since Tony kept his gas level low for a while it would cure it. They say if you wet your canister a couple of times it can ruin it (like you said).
There are articles about it on the net. I came across this one last night. It is addressing the "don't top off your tank too high thing" but also applies even more to what we do. I didn't know it was so common with just road vehicles. Kinda clarified some things for me.

Maybe it will help somebody...

Just dropped the 200 off at Jason's @reevesci joint in Redding, CA for "Tony V2.0" bumpers, sliders, roof rack, LCA skids, ect... Got some great eats/booze and good/interesting conversation. Thanks Jason!

The new gear is going to be awesome. Lots of input and discussions to get everything as strong and as useful as possible. Get your orders in while you can. Lots of tweaks and new stuff (universal propane tank mount anyone?)

If you want to see anything fabbed up while he has my rig, post it up! Various skids, light mounts, or whatever. If there's a market, he'll make it.

Or what you want from the new roof rack. I saw some of the pieces, it's extremely light, strong, and versatile. I wasn't interested in a rack before, but this one looks like it'll be pretty damn good.

Before anyone asks, I have no professional affiliation with Trail Tailor. No side deals have been made. Just want good gear made.

It was good to catch up T. Good dinner and conversations for sure. I'll see you in the morning.

I'm game to try and make extra things that time allows for over the next few weeks. Let me or Tony know. PM , email or post up in this or my Trail Tailor thread.

Thanks all,

Jason
