The Cruiser was built to get dirty, not stay prettyCome back and we will get your engine dirty.![]()
Thanks for the kind words @JalmoodThat’s a super clean green GCC Land Cruiser you’ve got thereWishing you endless trails and a ton of great memories with that beast.
And yeah, green LC100s are pretty rare but honestly, they’re the real gems of the lineup in my opinion
Honestly man, with the amount of dust we get here, washing the engine bay feels kinda pointless, desert lifeI cleaned mine at the start of winter and it already looks worse than before.
I lived in the US for a few years and never once washed my engine bay. After like 5 years it still looked showroom clean… had me seriously questioning life out here.![]()
One of my regrets is that I passed on an OEM winch when building my 79 with @MeshalGoing back to what I wanted to use this truck for…..Since this would be replacing my LX, I was looking for more of a “family” truck. Light off-roading, taking on longer trips, school drop off, etc. ShortE 70 is awesome and will serve more for off-roading. I need something with room for all our luggage, and something a little easier for Cammie to get out of in the pickup/dropoff school line.
That being said I was still undecided on just how much I wanted to build it. I still want it to be capable of getting out of bad situations, such as getting stuck, as well as look “cool”.
I thought maybe I’d do an ARB bumper with Comeup winch, maybe some lights, but that’s about it. I like the cleanliness off these. It’s the whole reason I didn’t just throw a rear tire carrier on the LX. I like that it’s stock vs aftermarket.
@Meshal convinced, well I’m not sure if he actually convinced me or just “told” me, we’d do an oem winch and bumper if I wanted a winch. My only concern was protection from deer strikes, he told me not to worry that these oem bumpers are strong.
So down this rabbit hole we go …….

@Meshal hunts down a used winch with the mounting bracket we need. He takes to a guru in Riyadh who breaks it down, replaces broken and/or worn parts, cleans, and rebuilds.

@Meshal in the meantime will take all the parts and have them all powder coated and galvanized. Orders new mounting hardware and searches for a new oem bumper with the winch holes cut out

After everything has been rebuilt, cleaned, and recoated.

I knew if I didn’t do it in country with @Meshal that I’d never be able to find all the pieces myself, if I ever wanted the oem setup in the future. I’m glad I went ahead and got it. Rarely do I get to say that….One of my regrets is that I passed on an OEM winch when building my 79 with @Meshal
Ya, it just makes sense as you did.I knew if I didn’t do it in country with @Meshal that I’d never be able to find all the pieces myself, if I ever wanted the oem setup in the future. I’m glad I went ahead and got it. Rarely do I get to say that….
I can always put an ARB and come up on it later if I decide to change direction.
@wardharris I love your 79! One of the cleanest I have ever seen. I’m jealous. Maybe one of these days I’ll be fortunate enough to get me one. I know you’ll be excited to finally get behind the wheel after such a journey. Thankfully working with good people like @wngrog and @Meshal make it all worth while!Ya, it just makes sense as you did.
At the time I was feeling out of budget and itching to ship the truck.....fast forward a year and the truck is finally on the water coming to America (my decisions, not due to @Meshal ).
The 79 is a little different, but at the time I was considering a bull bar/winch if needed. A year later, I have gotten pretty purist/orthodox in my old age. That big chin front end with max chrome has grown on me. A retrofit of a OEM winch would definitely be my decision at this point.

@wngrog don’t forget the slee sliders!! Can’t wait to see her landAnd now the Royal Kush is on the boat headed this way. Probably get it a Dobinsons IMS and some 285s, a decent stereo, ceramic tint, kill the speed buzzer then it's off to Alabama
Hope to get the tracker soon

The race is on
Love it. Especially the steelies.
Trucks look great! Will there be a build thread on the white one as well? Or have I missed one of the chronicles of the trucks you've imported or worked on?
There will be yes. That owner is going pretty big.Trucks look great! Will there be a build thread on the white one as well? Or have I missed one of the chronicles of the trucks you've imported or worked on?
