So these trucks, in this condition, are quite rare. It seems there would be a want for them all over the world? Are the bidding wars intense? Why does no one want them in their current country?
They sold so many. It's like their F150.

That said they know what they have and they are expensive. This one will be $50,000 landed.

I personally don’t think an untouched, 25 year old truck, costing over 30k+ is not costing anything. It’s certainly expensive. I wanted something different and couldn’t find anything new that I liked. I believe if people in their homeland didn’t want them, they’d be much much less expensive. I also find lots of people, like myself, wanting something different. People want what they can’t have.

I really want to see how those saddle bags turn out. NGL seeing the finished ones on the shelf makes me want some!
They should look very similar to these. I do not have photos of mine yet but these were on a similar truck Meshal ran into. Can’t wait to see how mine turned out.

Going back to what I wanted to use this truck for…..Since this would be replacing my LX, I was looking for more of a “family” truck. Light off-roading, taking on longer trips, school drop off, etc. ShortE 70 is awesome and will serve more for off-roading. I need something with room for all our luggage, and something a little easier for Cammie to get out of in the pickup/dropoff school line.

That being said I was still undecided on just how much I wanted to build it. I still want it to be capable of getting out of bad situations, such as getting stuck, as well as look “cool”.

I thought maybe I’d do an ARB bumper with Comeup winch, maybe some lights, but that’s about it. I like the cleanliness off these. It’s the whole reason I didn’t just throw a rear tire carrier on the LX. I like that it’s stock vs aftermarket.

@Meshal convinced, well I’m not sure if he actually convinced me or just “told” me 🤣, we’d do an oem winch and bumper if I wanted a winch. My only concern was protection from deer strikes, he told me not to worry that these oem bumpers are strong.

So down this rabbit hole we go …….

@Meshal hunts down a used winch with the mounting bracket we need. He takes to a guru in Riyadh who breaks it down, replaces broken and/or worn parts, cleans, and rebuilds.

@Meshal in the meantime will take all the parts and have them all powder coated and galvanized. Orders new mounting hardware and searches for a new oem bumper with the winch holes cut out

After everything has been rebuilt, cleaned, and recoated.

I recently had to take a headlight apart to clean out some water and mud and can say it's not an easy job.

Meshal has a guy that does it. Makes them like new.

Also grabbing these new center consoles makes the interior pop

Once the mechanicals were together the truck went to the body shop to take out a dent. They did paintless removal. They pulled the headlights apart and cleaned them. Great service for the glass lights.

One think Meshal wanted so bad was to replace the stripes with new OEM units. He loves to collect them.

Very cool! I am hoping at some point in the future to import from AUS!

Here’s some more random pictures

@Meshal took out the console and cleaned everything. We replaced some oem parts. Bushings, seals, rubbers, etc.

Fresh console installed. Excited to have the cool box in center console.

He also was able to source me a set of GX wheels I was wanting. Apparently this style wheel has become somewhat hard to find.

I realize the gold isn’t for everyone. I’ve always thought gold was retro and cool. I will admit I was a bit nervous about the grill itself being gold too. The GXR came with the gold package. So it’s period correct. It has grown on me. It’s also another thing that makes it unique. So bling it shall….

Saudis don't really know wash their cars like we do. Even when they sell them. A cleaned up engine bay makes a buyer suspicious that the seller is hiding the real condition. Same goes with the underside.

So naturally the first thing I want is that s*** clean so I know what needs replacing.

Meshal always makes it happen.
That’s a super clean green GCC Land Cruiser you’ve got there 😍 Wishing you endless trails and a ton of great memories with that beast.
And yeah, green LC100s are pretty rare but honestly, they’re the real gems of the lineup in my opinion

Honestly man, with the amount of dust we get here, washing the engine bay feels kinda pointless, desert life 😂 I cleaned mine at the start of winter and it already looks worse than before.

I lived in the US for a few years and never once washed my engine bay. After like 5 years it still looked showroom clean… had me seriously questioning life out here. 😂
