Also, verify the sniper is reading Chinese correct like. Measure volts at battery when sniper say you’re high

Ah, thank you for clarifying!

I think you will have to trace wiring to be sure. Either trace from alternator to regulator, or trace harness from mystery box.

Do you have Pig wiring diagram to trace wire colors?

The Pig wiring diagram for up to 1977 has different color wires than my truck.

Haynes manual has different diagrams from 74, 76 and 77.

Pig is different for most years for this thing or that... is the diagram you refer to the factory publication, or... other?

You can read HORN RELAY at the top of the crusty bucket, or is it just me?

What alt are you running?

I just realized it was the horn relay. Turns out what I thought was my blinker relay is actually my regulator and mine is new and in the OEM location right behind the driver headlight.

Wgnrog did you replace the regulator because things werent working correctly like when I have my lights on and am running the fan, go to signal a left/right turn my turn signal says on. When I rev the motor it starts blinking again.

Did you replace because you were having these problems?

I replaced mine to make a pretty clean new engine compartment.

I switched back to my old crusty one and charging went back to normal.

I think you have grounding issues

Test day went pretty good overall. I need to chase down some leaks but overall I’m really happy with the way it runs and drives.

I took it to fill up the tank. Looks like I’ll be adding those leafs back that I took out before.

I had about 8 gallons in it and the pump shut off at $100

It’s great to have the shop floor cleaned up and back under it’s on power

Pulled the radiator out to get a good hand on all of the hoses. I had a leak in one of them so I adjusted the top hose and replaced the lower and made it a bit longer.

I pulled the connector pipe out and cleaned it on the wire wheel. It’s a bit pitted so if the leak is still there I’ll try to find a newer one

It’s a pain but it’s actually easier that reaching around in there. @SirBarton here is what mine looks like in there

How was the cabin noise after the sound deadening work?

It’s way way better. I’ve not sealed up the shifter boots properly and all the noise is coming through there now.

Lol... I supposedly broke a timing chain on a bound up brand new crate 460 turning it over by hand with a 3’ cheater bar on a 1/2” drive breaker bar...

Added the “warren Wench” this morning then spent the afternoon adding the speedo cable, some stainless and the floor mats.

Took it for an easy drive with the broken motor mount and it was fine. No issues.

So bucket swap too... Guess the 5spd pushed too far back to work with the bench, or just wanted something other than the bench?

No it worked with bench fine

Just hated the bench.:...

I’ve had an annoying coolant leak. I narrowed it down to a freeze plug and decided to put a bead of RTV on it and call it good.

I took it for an easy drive tonight and got back and shut it down and looked for leaks.

Nothing was making it to the ground. I was happy, until I climbed under and watched the block while running. The hot motor was cooking it off before it would drip but holy s***. Look. I have a cracked block.

Thanks on the beta. my wires are old old old so probably a ground somewhere.

OOOOOOOHhhhhhh so sad! Sorry to see you block! Cumins 2.8?
