Made a trip to NC and found a 69’ 55 with some barrel style heavy duty lockers. They were cheap. I decided to pull and freshen them up. If anyone needs some standard Warn 6 spline I can let go of mine . They are cleaned up. Not abused or anything. PM me.
Also, if anyone has found a reliable source for the square cut oring that’s cut for the dial on the m470 style please let me know. I’ve only found std Sq cut style.

Good on you for picking up the phone and getting those square cut dial seals...I couldn't find those when doing my hub rebuild (not the same model hub). I had to put the old ones back in, were cracked and split. Lookin' good!

The dials have the flat machined area for the model number. So instead of giving him the model number I told the diameter of the dial and explained the the hub and that it most likely was a dial used for alot of applications. He dug into that and found the seals on hand. Really helpful nice guy.

Noticed drips getting more and more on the underside so decided to have a close look. Been driving this truck lots and hated that I’ve already been in here. I will say the silicone on the outer diameter of the seal tried rolling when the main seal went in last time so maybe thats the issue. Oh well. It’s just bolts and beers

Also noticed the output seal is slinging oil … 😐

That's a bummer! On the bright side, you have a nice lift to work with and everything is so clean. All I got that's good about that job. 🤷‍♂️
Agreed! I’m very fortunate to have my set up here in my shop. It’s not a mechanic shop but I have to do a bunch of it so it sure keeps things comfortable.

Fantastic work!!!!!

Thanks for the mention @samc2447
Yes we offer the dual-seal rear transfer case extension housings. Here’s more info:

We can certainly help with that pesky leak and lots of other mechanical cruiser parts.

Super idea! Love it! I’ll call as soon as you are in the shop to take an order!

Got the double seal housing from Valley Hybrids and installed that. Resealed the trans too. While that was out I redid the oil pan. Again. Probably should have replaced the pan this time as it was not super straight on the flange. We will see. All back together.

This was months ago. I’ve been driving the truck daily as much as I can. Prefer to not drive in pouring rain because it’s just not fun.

So during the hood incident the roof was dented in two separate places and the paint was spidered. It was to bare metal . I didn’t like the corrosion starting in the middle of the roof so I decided to hit it with a 3” d/a and planned just a throwing some epoxy on it to seal it up. Well it spiraled on me as it does… the side of the roof had some blistering and the rain gutters were lifting where the prior “restoration” they applied body filler over the gutters.
I decided to just soda blast the entire roof being that the truck was still together and had glass in it and soda is not ideal for a lot of things but is the lesser of two evils when it comes to a partial strip like this.
