When was the last time you've been there? I've read that the road was rerouted so your crossing the creek in 2 spots. Water was fine, not deep at all. The trailer was fine. My brother was in his truck but I didn't feel I needed a spotter at any point. I was more worried about the traffic which there was plenty considering the new yrs crowd. I'm not sure of your trailer dimensions but I wouldn't think it would be a problem if they are slightly larger than the horizon.
I was up there Mar 2016 but no trailer. I figured the biggest obstacle would be negotiating the traffic, I'm sure the key is having another truck block for you. Glad to hear you had a great trip, Happy New Year.

Beautiful pics. I wanna go, can I tag along and join your crew! Hey are you running Rigid D Series lights? Are you able to use those while driving on the road, or are they too bright? I have the Slee Blueberry and I'm missing my factory fog lights, wondering if that would be a viable option. Please let me know. thanks

I didn't realize Shoe Creek was open again, it's a pretty trail, narrow, but definitely scenic.
Trail is closed about midway up, gated-private land. You can enter the trail on either end but can't run it all the way thru. We began at the trail head off of sr 827, you can enter off of 56-Crabtree Falls Hwy but hear it the shorter end. Still a nice scenic ride thru the VA country side!

I had decided to go out via Tea Kettle and over Hunter Mtn, knowing there may be a snow issue. I hadn't been that way in a bit, so I went to for it. Got rejected at the spring headed to the Hunter (spring along the road fully iced up the road)

Went out via Ubehebe crater road, very wash-boarded. No traffic from South Pass the night before had me thinking snow in the canyon. Turns out (according to another message board) somebody got stuck towing a 30 foot trailer with a 2wd truck in grapevine canyon and blocked the road.

Here we are as we were leaving Lassen National Park. The place got dumped with snow so our snowshoeing had to be shortened because of the avalanche areas. My wife couldn't quite understand why I felt the Land Cruiser needed to be in the picture.
We are also trying our hand at a travel Instagram account (@katamtravels) if anyone cares to follow, tell all your friends.

Ha! "Honey, my Mud friends couldn't quite understand why my wife needed to be in the picture..."

You Colorado guys have all the fun. Our schools shut down for this! Seriously.
That's right, school will be shut down all week probably!

Spent the day in Joshua Tree National Park. Drove the offroad geological tour then took the "hard" way out via Berdoo Canyon Road. Berdoo was pretty but nothing too exciting other than a handful of spots, the sun going down, and Katie freaking out and not understanding how we were making it through anything.
Did get her in the drivers seat and I will have her ready for HIH7 if it kills me.
