Got some pictures of the bed all done. The inside of the bed was lined with Zolatone and the bed sides will be red along with the tailgate. Should look pretty slick when done!

That looks incredible!

Thanks Manhattan!

I'm really impressed with the fact they sprayed behind the bedside panels - they didn't have to do that. Just speaks to the quality of work they're doing there!

Now you're gonna have to finish the interior. ;)

Can you tell me the paint code?

Status?

Finally nearing the end of the paint project - the cab got sprayed yesterday and I got these pics. Looks like all that's left is final assembly and then it'll be home!

That is a MUCH better paint job than what I had done.

It's funny to me that they left my little postage-stamp sized pieces of peel-and-stick flashing right at the base of the A-pillars. I put those there to keep the fenders from rubbing right at that spot, which was starting to rust.

If this was 6 months from now, I would love to come out and help you put it back together. Seriously.

I chuckled when I saw that as well! Maybe they figured out what it was there for and left it.

I'm pretty impressed with the work they've been doing - especially on the bed by going behind the panels like that. They really didn't have to! I And honestly Ken given the timeframe on this thing, it might be another 6 months before I get it back anyway so come on down!

She's back!

I still have some assembly to do, but overall I'm really pleased with how it came out. Can't wait to have the decals back on!

Damn. It is perfect! I can't imagine it looked any better than that when it was new. Wow.

The truck is now pretty much reassembled, still need to hook up the winch and throw the decals on it and then it's done! Took a few pictures for the insurance company.

The truck looks fantastic, especially in direct sunlight. I've said it before and I'll say it again - the body shop completely knocked it out of the park. They even went as far to fix the original fender and repaint it for free since the aftermarket one left a huge gap by the marker light. If you're not in a rush I would highly recommend Central Collision Center here in Tucson. Kevin runs a tight ship and his quality of work is impeccable.

Now for the bad news - I think the 1987 is going to be on the chopping block here soon. I just don't have the luxury to have a truck that I can't really use (Damn classic car insurance) and I am downsizing the herd. I've had my fun with it and it's time to pass it on to someone else who can enjoy it. If you're interested or have any questions feel free to PM me. I'll be putting up a real ad in the next couple weeks when it's all finished.

Hate to even think of letting it go, but it's time. 😭

Got my decals from James Dean Creations who does an awesome job. Truck definitely looks a million times better!
