Hi all. I have been gone but I am all caught up on the thread again. Prices are ridiculous right now. Everywhere and all over the country. Guns and ammo are drying up. In other news, Both Charity's and Adam's guns are pretty sweet. I was able to put hands on my Brother's SIG 516 in Magpul Flat Earth. It was an amazing piece of work. He also bought his on 12.14.
I got my VLTOR ModStock for the M1A mounted today. It basically turned the M1A into a AR platform so it is beginning to take shape as my new close quarter battle rifle. Whenever the EOTech shows up it will be almost done. Hopefully in the next couple of days. I will post a picture in a minute. I got to get it out of the safe again for the photo op.
To answer Adam's questions that video was just over 100 yards at the Fraternal Order of Police Range in Troutman NC. Nothing crazy for distance but that was the fourth shot out of the box so I was pretty happy. I sighted the scope in further since then and from the bench it will drive nails, and I am a pretty bad shot.

Whooooa - dont you have to have a atf tax stamp (sp?) for a CQBR?? Phares..you have achieved something on my bucket list..please tell me one day youll let me hold it :D

I know. Im a weird girl.

PICTURES!!

she is a weird girl for sure..... phares what time of eotech did you get? I would like one some day but for know I don't have the seal/delta budget just the former cpl budget. hehe We need to set up a ONSC gun shoot day. I know a perfect RSO he has a beard and was in the army.... :)

I gotta jump on the wagon..heres mine..Ive never added sights - mostly because I shoot just fine without the extra bling. Third pic is a patch from the local famous Marine group - thought you Walking Dead fans would like it..

Adam - we're in. BOOM - sounds like you just arranged a coastal meetup:grinpimp:

SA M1A Socom II with VLTOR ModStock

Here is the M1A SOCOM II with the VLTOR Modstock that was designed to work with the rail system developed by VLTOR for the SOCOM II. Above it is the stock that came with the M1A so you can see the differences. So far the modification seems to be worthwhile. It took all of about 15 minutes to do and provides for much better weapon control and movement. Range time tomorrow will tell the true differences. It still has the 16" barrel so there is no extra federal regulations for it. Some people seem to refer to this stock setup and the SAGE as an EBR (Enhanced Battle Rifle) which from what I understand is a special M14 with these kind of stocks setup and given to one or two marines per unit as designated "Marksmen". Adam may be able to elaborate.

I will bring this to the Spring HAMOM when I confirm it is alright for the events so you can touch it Charity.

Oh, quick update CQBR is a 10.3" barrel...everything else is the same...

Thought Id share this tidbit that hasnt gotten a whole lot of press

San Antonio Shooting

The shooter was put down by an armed off duty female police officer. I do love my home state!

we've gone to Flatwoods in Hubert, which is very busy on payday weekends..Very primitive - also used a private range locally..I absolutely hate the indoor range in Jville - Sportsmans Lodge. Staff there had an all around crap attitude. Been to Shooters Choice in Wilmington several times..

What say you, Alex?

Adam, are you talking about that range out in Newport/Havelock? I havent been there to shoot, looks like Havelock version of Flatwoods here, cept Flatwoods has a bar onsite...NO JOKE. I have no complaints about Flatwoods. I dont think opens till the range closes though

For the record - I wouldnt assume to bring an arsenal to anyones house without their express permission unless of course, the apocalypse has hit and someone needs to be saved

Not s fan of flatwoods. Last time i was the rso was an a******. Me and buddy were only ones on the range treated us like special kids.

B&R is outside havelock. Its a s***hole. Guy who runs it has the personality of a turd and is a ass too. Plus when u go shoot there it feals like the battle for fallujah! Shelms bouncing off your head and face from all the jarines.

Sureshot down adams creek rd. Farther away. Customer service is outstanding. Range is ok. If its rained lately bring your waders really freaking muddy.

Im sure alex has some secret squirrel sniper complex in a underground bunker somewhere.

Ill check with my friends, see if they could swing us a range day..theyre super busy right this second but maybe in the spring..I think itd be fun - any interest in a club range day?

I must be the only person here that does not have an AR-15 style rifle. I kinda like my lever action Marlin 444 as far as rifles go. Will be looking for a Marlin 1894 Cowboy chambered in 45 long Colt probably in the Spring.

I just have not found an affection for the AR style weapon. Besides if the ban does not go through they will be everywhere if I want one, and seeing how folks are buying them now at a dazzeling rate, they should be pretty cheap by then.

I love lever action rifles! Thank you John Wayne. :)

If I had they $$$ I would have a few of them. 30 30 is a good deer rifle for nc in the woods

You're not alone Stan. I don't have an AR yet either. Still think I am going to break down and do a build. I love a good lever gun. Not sure why but I've been jonesing for a 357.

I don't really have the desire to own one, but I have the right and that's enough. I had posted a while back for people's thoughts on an AR and when I finally had the time to go shopping, the CT thing had already happened. Now I'm definitely not in a rush - no sense paying inflated prices for whatever is left in the store just because it's there.

I like the pistol caliber lever gun idea, though...
