A1 vs A2, A2 has finer windage adjustment and elevation adjustment the A1 didn’t have, you’d just zero the A1 at 300yds for a combat zero, like a BUIS.

The markings should be on the barrel, right in front of the front sight post, a couple on the upper behind and maybe in front of the ejection port, and possibly one on the bolt carrier.

If it’s Colt, the barrel should have something like MP C 5.56 1/9 on it, and the reciever may have a little keyhole and a “C” behind the ejection port and in front of the port, you may have a “C” inside a square and a little triangle proof mark.

Now I'm curious what it is I'm ready to get off work. Lol

I'm not sure if mine will be a colt as I think they picked up cheap kits I just remember shooting it once about 8 years ago and it never gave me any issues I remember thinking this is way better than the trash I have always jamming freaking double feeds....

All,

My daughter's Softball team is raffling off your choice of an AR-15 or tactical shotgun ( it's really a $500 gift certificate from Sovereign Guns in Fuquay/Varina, so you can choose anything you fancy!). Drawing is on December 1st. So far the sales are relatively low, so the odds are pretty good. And ONSC members seem to do pretty well at raffles (it's all the good karma!)

I almost joined the navy in 1979. Jobs were hard to find and I went and took the Navy exam, tested in the top 3 percentile and they wanted me to go into submarines, 6 year sign up. NO WAY!!! I got a job and passed on the 6 year deal. They continued trying to recruit me for 3 years to come. Funny part was I moved out of my Mom's house right about that time and my sister then rented my Mom's house from her. The recruiters would call early on Sat mornings and bother my sister :) Ever cloud has a silver lining.

Sorta same situation with me. I almost joined in 1993, took the ASVAB my senior year and could pick where I wanted to go (so many phone calls and pestering!), so I almost enlisted as a Navy Corpsman to be assigned to a USMC unit and had to commit to 6 years also. It was literally down to coming in one weekend to sign. At the time it was right after Storm/Shield and the whole situation seemed dicey. Yes, I wussed out and now I create pharmaceuticals instead of being a doctor, but have high respect for those that went into the service. Both my father and grandfather served, my other grandfather couldn't serve in WWII because he worked for GE and was part of their jet turbine projects.

I’m thinking about getting an 1895 lever gub to go with my Ruger No. 1 in 45-70;)

Are any of y'all into Marlins? I have a soft spot for JM stamped Marlin lever rifles. Always looking for Marlins and other Marlin guys to discuss with.

I missed this. I have a Marlin 444. I do not know a whole lot about them, just like lever guns. Dispatched a rat with my Henry 22 earlier today :)

a vintage 1911 would be real cool, if it comes with documented history. but is it worth the money for a worn out fossil?
as an owner of a 1918 vintage 1911 that's been carried in WW1,WW2 and Korea, all I can say is you might end up with something magical....

check out I-target. nice little laser bullet and app that allows you to practice with your real gun and keeps score...any charlotte guys want to check it out LMK...

@angerhater it will be really interesting to see if I get a brick or something that shoots. The M1 Garand I got from the CMP shoots as well as I can so no complaints there. I'd love for a WWII, Korea, Vietnam era colt. Odds are good it saw some sort of combat. I've got an OD green GI Model from Springfield but I'm excited about the real thing. Currently the CMP is only recieving 8000 of them and will probably begin taking order in March/April. I have to assume there are a couple million sitting in the military warehouses. The CMP should sell through these 8000 is, oh, about two days :)

Thought I had shared this previously but it looks like I had not. So at the last GSO gunshow I was on the hunt for an Ambi charging handle for the BPM. It was between the Raptor and the Bravo Company. Found both there and got to fondle them a bit and ultimately went with the BCM. Can't wait to take it out for a little test drive.
