This may trickle into those other sports some as well, some recruits arent going to want to go to a school that had all these issues because they will be worried something might happen with their sport, and coaches from other schools will be spinning it that way. Good to see UNC headed back to their rightful football position in the conference somwhere between doormat and doorstop.

an apperance at the SEC championship was well beyond mediocre....afterall the winner of the SEC title game usually determines the national champion!

well you guys made an appearance that is for sure, but you certianly didn't "show up" :flipoff2:

all i gotta say is...we've beat Clemson 2 years in a row and have now made an SEC championship apperance.

I've been a carolina fan for over 20 years....the past 2 seasons are about as good as it's going to get so please leave me alone as i relish in the moment!

I hear UNC is trying to get Tommy Bowden.

That's funny, because I read that VT said they would politely decline an invitation from the SEC. I fully expect them to pluck FSU, myself. That's assuming they don't want to go to 16 teams, at which point anything is possible.

One thing is certain though, college football will never be the same...

I'd be willing to bet

No teams from states with existing member gets added.
Pipe dreams otherwise.
NO sane school would refuse an invite to the S.E.C.
Let the official courting commence.
$$$$$$...new TV deal post enlargement. Texas market brings a
LOT of dough to the already filthy rich boys of the S.E.C.
I'm thinking just one more fresh market, other than Texas, and that's it.
Unless a school back channels it's acceptance no offer will be made public.
When a REAL name, ala A&M , pops out....it's a done deal.
S.E.C. will pick the lucky school. It is an upgrade for ANY school, from ANY other
conference. If ya like football.

Interesting guess stuff till then.
ESPN is quoting a high source for it's scroll line mentioning CU,FSU,Missouri

USC plays CU every year and the CU vs UGA stuff was fun.
If CU was in I'd say put 'em in the West. ;) Make USC and
UGA their "permanent" opposite division foes.
No matter who they add the dang thing just keeps getting tougher.
A&M is QUALITY college sports and fans.
Hell, I say add PC. USC struggles to get a winning season every year.
It looks like that is going to be harder when this is all said and done
and certainly not easier.
:grinpimp:
Fantasy football.

For now, SEC will stick with its 12 schools

and this "“(Texas A&M) did approach the SEC, not the other way around,” Gearhart said.

So everybody calm down OK.

I agree with David, SEC would never take a school from a state they are already represented in because it doesn't expand their market. Taking new schools is all about expanding their reach for the SEC Network. Also Florida and USC would block attempts at adding FSU and Clemson, they know they have a competitive advantage by making those pompous claims of SEC superiority and by getting that extra money.

Bringing back that Clemson UGA matchup would be great though.
