Just got in from NY and stopped for an event horizon night cap but they just got in a single case of the limited release bourbon stout made for bestway grocer here at lindley park in gso..... Good stuff. Im not a big fruity beer fan so was worried about the raspberry but a nice touch and not overpowering at all.

They have 8 cases of event horizon if anyone is looking for it.

Here is what we brought home from Sam's Quik Shop while we were in the area on vacation. My wife loves hard cider:

I've not heard of that place before. I'll have to run up and check it out one of these days.

I have been going to Sam's Bottle Shop on 54 in Durham for my kegs. Picked up a 1/6 of Dale's Pale Ale late last week:

Prior to that, I enjoyed some tasty brews that Tim brought over:

Mmmm Johnny - nice work!

Sam's Quik Shop was the original location - same ownership. I need to check out the bottle shop sometime - didn't know it was opened.

Heck yeah it's open! It hasn't been open long though, maybe a year? They have a pretty comprehensive keg list, which is why I started going there in the first place. They have a bar / lounge upstairs to hang out in, although I haven't yet.

The employees at the bottle shop were the ones who told me that Epic brewing beers were no longer available in NC.

Boo. No more epic? Might go back to the brewer's kettle for the hopulent still in stock.

But man they may have actually gone and made a great beer better. Funny, I know I said I wasn't a fruity beer fan but in the words of fj40z... Dang man, that's tasty!

And another good local nc option I had the pleasure of trying.

That Epic beer story was true. I understand the issue is resolved now and they're back distributing in NC. Ted @btlrev probably has 10 cases left of big bad baptist.

I can't believe NY is #9. I always thought that Saranac was bland (every beer was bland) and that Brooklyn Lager was good, but not as good as they hype.

Popular IPA up here in Toronto that's I've yet to see down our way... nothing to write home about, but there aren't many good IPAs to choose from in most restaurants here:

That's one I thought about. They do have many really good breweries though just nothing super hoppy. It all depends I you need that extra hippy bite or not.

Gotta love a make your own 6 pack....
