The Delirium Xmas beer this year is one of their best they've had

Sadly after having a friend buy me this in another state (for some reason no one i've talked to in NC carries it) and shipping it here, I was underwhelmed with how it tasted. Kinda flat and the chocolate and orange didn't go we together, unlike other chocolate and orange beers i've had. Their vanilla bean smoked porter is much, much better

The orinigal Delirium that started my love with the brewery.

To make up for Stones bad showing in the smoked porter chocolate and orange I went back to old faithful.... still one of the best beers out there.

And forget the high gravity beer. You guys gotta try this high altitude stuff. :D

What did you think of that aviator..... Had it at the brewery and fell very short for me

Yeah. Not my favorite.
That one and a victory wheat ipa both disappointed me. Wasnt hop ticket or Ophelia. Can't recall the name.

A few from today

Today's from the charlotte xmas get together

Pretty solid showing from victory brewing. A friend suggested it to me, not my favorite brewery in the world but everything from them is fairly good.

My first Ommegang beer. I'll be trying more of them if they are all like this.

Tim got me a nice selection of brews for Christmas, but we tried this one first. Holy crap was it good. It was so good in fact that Laura liked it, and she hates beer!

Event Horizon Imperial Stout

That's a good one and one of my top 3 bourbon aged beers.

Had a few bottles and the same coffee infused on that Tim posted about a few pages back.

Top bourbon beers so far

Monstro from NODA (one of 2 that use pappy barrels)

Goose Island/event horizon and silent night are all tied for 2nd right now.

Haven't done home brew for a while. Andrea has realm wanted to do it so I've slowly (when money has allowed) been getting all the parts together to do it again. (big thanks to Jerry for some of the final pieces in that puzzle). Just need to finished building my wort chiller and get a 2nd glass fermenter for the 2nd stage fermenting I like to do.

Borrowed a friends recipe from back home and put together this package last week.

Lots of hops going into this one in 2 different stages

may have a special "cruiser" batch to have at the meet and greet.

Heard from a little birdie that Flying Saucer Charlotte should be tapping a keg of this today

Its extremely rare that NC gets any kegs of this at all. Supposed to be quite a bit better that KBS. It's one i've never had (strange when that happens) and on my wish list.

Here is non potato picture from that crazy night.

I tried a vanilla and cinamon infused one the other day at duckworths

Two recents. The first - Fearrington was nothing to write mud about.

The second - Stone Smoked Porter with Vanilla is very nice. Smooth and tastefully done.
