Fat arse Friday. Just because. And the brown is growing on me.

Still waiting on the workshop to do the work on the piggy.

The brown is definitely growing on me. I think that with some cygnus white wheels and hub caps it could look pretty good. Well caps are ordered anyway!

Whats interesting is that the brown is the same shade as the bulldust that I've cleaned out of every 4wd we've had. Maybe it was a way of camouflaging how dirty your car was.

Thanks for looking after the old rust bucket so well. The last of what you gave me for her bought me a new little friend called Holly, she’s 4wd, twin locked, very fuel efficient, has similar paint codes and goes everywhere. She’s well taken care of by her big sister.

Pig was sent off yesterday for a disc brake front end, rust work and thorough going over in anticipation of being on the road sooner rather than later.

Login • Instagram These guys are doing the work. Below is the firewall of my fathers 47 soft top troopy on 80 chassis with ls1, because everyone likes pics. Time to get the 45 sold.

Few more parts collected. The seller advertised these on a local facebook page months ago, and with all the Wuflu lockdowns and the cost of shipping, they hadn't sold. My brother happened to be holidaying over the Christmas period in the sellers vicinity and was towing a 6 m boat, so had the room on board. Seller even dropped them off and kept knocking money off the price, good guy!

I'm going to strip the guard back as the filler has cracked and lifted and I want to see what its like underneath. The strengthening gusset on the inside has been remade at some point too, so who knows what I might find.

The sill is an original NOS part, I'll save this for when the time comes to replace the existing.

Happy New Year and on with the adventure!

Okay so while the 55 is getting some body work done, I somehow managed to convince my mum to make some seat covers. The back seat is nearly done and here's a progress shot.

The pattern is Native Australian Banksia. Anyway, should look good with the Pueblo, and save the back of our legs from 2nd degree burns. Its not going to be to everyone's tastes granted, but then I'm not building another white Prado.
