Looks better in the radio slot than the 70's Stereoscope did.
Took my coping saw, and trimmed about 1/8" off each end of the face plate. Nice fit to me.

All the engine parts; Pistons, rings, seals, valve, bearings, etc..........Radiator & Fuel pump came from Beno.

Another care packaged arrived today, more parts for my engine swap. The big brown Truck delivered my new LUK Clutch Kit & Slave Cylinder, compliments of Carolina Clutch & a Discover Card.

This is going to seem like a strange question, but do you have the OEM part numbers for those various hose clamps? I'm trying to get my engine bay to all OEM old-style clamps like that and still have a few missing. I have quite a few of the numbers but when I order through Toyota I get a substitute part. I'm specifically trying to get the two larger ones that go on the large ends of hoses 16571-61050 and 90916-01056...

Honger:
For the lower two outlet hoses you need three (3 @ 58mm) #90460-58013 clamps and one (1 @ 50mm) #96111-10500 clamp
For the water pump by-pass hose you need two (2) 96112-10330 clamps
For the upper inlet hose you need two (2) #90460-49062 clamps
For the heater hoses, I got a bunch (12 plus) of the #96112-10250 clamps
Thank you so much. This really straightened me out! I've got a 1984 engine in my 1977 and had gotten my numbers crossed somewhere.

Honger - Those number cross reference to my 77's hoses and clamps. I will install them on the '86 2F I'm having built. All accessories for my new engine are based on the '77 schematics and components.

The issue I've run into here is that I'm sometimes not sure where the boundaries of my '84 motor and my '77 everything else begin and end. =) Turns out, I should have been going with '77 parts for the hoses and clamps. My radiator is '77.
I will say this, watch closely which thermostat housing you use because there are slightly different parts depending on if you use the '86 or the '77, though the hoses are generally the same. I already learned this the hard way. They'll both mate to the '84 block, but they have slightly different shapes and gaskets.
Also found out that though my carb belongs on my '84 motor, the air cleaner is the original '77 so I need the older carb/ac gasket.
Thanks! I actually have full access to ToyoDIY over here in the sandbox, so that's what I generally use for both my 40 and my 80.

For my new engine install, the plan is to only use the long block of the '86 2F, and will reinstall all my '77 items or new parts for a '77 FJ40. I'm trying not to miss-match too many parts, except for the block. Here are some items that I am aware of for my engine swap:
1. Valve cover - Will install a taller VC with rocker bolts so my '77 air cleaner & '77 carb will be install correctly.
2. Fuel Pump - Will install a new '77 mechanical pump and the '80 spacer.
3. Oil filter bracket - will install an oil filter bracket without the oil cooler.
4. Water pump - will install a new '77 Toyota OEM WP without the oil cooler port...(not too many of these around)
5. Dizzy - Plan to use an FJ60 dizzy & igniter/coil...or reinstall my Trollhole Dizzy and current '77 OEM igniter/coil.
6. Intake & Exhaust Mani - the '77 decked mani's should bolt right up with a new OEM gasket.
7. The new radiator is for a '77, thus the new hoses are for a '77
8. The Thermostat housing and parts will be for a '77
9. I'm sure other items will come up, but I'm having a professional shop install the engine so I will trust their judgment.
Note: I have many parts and pieces that I could install other '86 2F parts and attachments. But my plan is to keep it as close to it's original '77 state as possible.

You would be correct about my 40 not having the oil cooler from factory. Back in the Summer when I started to plan a 2F rebuild for my rig, I first read and learned as much as possible about the 2F's and what years and accessories would work together.
I happened across a NOS Toyota OEM water pump for a '77 w/out the oil cooler outlet, thus I bought it. Then I purchased another part, and another......One of the last items was the actual 2F itself. The '86 2F did come with the oil cooler, but I'm not going to reuse it. My thoughts as to why not to reuse the oil cooler; two less heater hoses to bust, four less heater hose connections to leak, two less possible leaking bolts and their gaskets, I don't put that much strain on my rig to warrant installing it, and I don't really live in an extreme location for hot or cold weather....Not to mention, if I ever need an oil cooler for any reason, I will have a cleaned and prepped unit ready to install.
GA - on your AE86 JDM Steering Wheel - any other install issues other than turn signal cancel pin location? Steering shaft fit is the same? Does the horn work? Nice wheel - I want one ($$$).

Healey - Yes, all works like it should. If I had to do it over, I'd use two 3MM diameter pins bent and welded into place. The 1/8" (3.2MM) is almost too big, but they work. One item to note, I had to shave the shoulder of the plastic AE86 base off, but you can not tell it was done.

Yep, just pulled this thing out of the dash to install the 90's technology.
Our '67 convertable Mustang GTA had a factory 8-track, as well as our home stereo...that was back in the day.....But I was young tyke back then, and spent most of my time outside with my Daisy 880 pump shooting anything that moved! ($hit, maybe I shouldn't have posted that sentence, could be some PETA members in here.....My Apologies.
