Rub it in! We say "blowed off"!

If my replacement ever arrives, it will be tethered to my air cleaner... hopefully, my ac won't get blowed off...
Yea, we say, your's done gone and got "blowed off"....where as, mine hasn't been "blown off" yet. If it does, well you know, it will have been "blowed off".

Mine has a baffle in the inner rear--I assume to keep the oil vapors down going into the pcv/vent. I didn't see that baffle in yours--Is this something that can be removed, if necessary?

Mine has the yellow zinc plated metal baffle as well, I just took it out to clean it and under it. I reinstalled the baffle, gasket and all six bolts with some thread locker. I don't think you would want to permanently remove it.

WD-40 is the product of many uses. Many years ago, when our daughter was little, we kept telling her not to go to bed with gum in her mouth, and wouldn't you know it she did eventually anyway. My wife tried multiple things to get the gum out of her hair (it was down next to the scalp so no cutting it out), margarine, butter, hairspray, etc. Being a wiseguy I had to put in my two cents and cracked off about how WD-40 was a do-all product, and to surprise both of us the gum DISSOLVED!

Goodgod, man--never admit you're "missing a few screws" !
Ha! I've been missing a few for a long time--ask my wife--at least I don't have any that are loose--they kinda fall out faster these days

Come this Spring/Summer, I have a major project slated for my rig. I will be installing a new 2F power plant out of an '86 FJ60. The engine work has begun, and thanks to Beno, the machinist has most all the parts to get this done. While the shop is balancing & blueprinting my engine, I'm getting other new Toyota OEM parts for this change. Here are some update photos.

Big box of Toyota parts:

New OEM radiator:

New OEM fuel pump: (I will order the '80 FJ40 #90923-06001 insulator to run the '77 pump on the '86 block.)

New OEM Hoses & clamps:

X2^^ Now you're just rubbing it in!! :moon:

It has been stated on more than one occasion, and by more than one Mud member, it is best to use OEM parts when available.......SO, the PO's aftermarket crap is getting removed and replace with some good stuff.

One way to look at it, I'll have some tested and working back-up parts when I get done. :)

What tranny and you going to run with your new F2? I will be doing this exact same swap with an 86 F2. I have a 72 40 which has a 3 speed tanny. I have to option of buying the tanny out of the 60 I'm getting the F2 from but I don't think it will fit without cutting out the rear cross member? I would like to avoid cutting up my frame it possible!
Thanks Josh

I'm not replacing the tranny. The standard H42 will be run on my rig.

Yes, if you go with the tranny out of the 60, from what I know you will have to modify the cross member.

Looks like it belongs there. You have to trim the faceplate much?
