Yeah really, I've managed to bring mine in, under the $5000 budget, enough to take my Wife for some White Castles! :)

I needed to take a break from block sanding for a day so I finished cleaning up the side vents,

And machined some door hinge bushings,

Still a long way to go but I’m back sanding everything tomorrow that’s missing from this picture.

Nice! What are the plans for the side vents?

Cerakote Coatings: H-146Q Graphite Black

Oh good lord! That thing is looking amazing!

Thank you!

Yep, I'm really liken the blue.

Thanks Ron,

True story, when I started this project I had never worked on a metric car let alone a 55 so at that time I was going to do this on the cheap and it was going to be some version of Nebula green and black or white. It became obvious quickly that parts were nonexistent and information about said nonexistent parts was only to be found down here in the sty so I spent countless hours reading about these PIG’s and the time you guys spend resurrecting them back to life. So to my point, I spent a few days reading your build thread and it gave me the inspiration needed to spend a bit more time and $$$ than my original plan and try to give the old PIG a fitting makeover then came my dilemma, if I painted the pig green then I would look like some sort of creepy Slow 71 stalker or fanboy and I couldn’t go back to red well because girls drive red cars so that was definitely out. Now you know why my PIG is blue.

Oh great, now I can't paint mine blue or green as those colors are taken! I was not thinking red but now I know red is out, for fear of J Mack thinking I'm a girl...

If painting my pig nebula makes me a Scrapdaddy follower, i'd be honored, lol.

Thank god Ron, changed the color of his pig more to olive green'ish. So im still in the clear.

That's just what I needed ... more stress about the color to paint my pig. Now we're into shades of green. I'm screwed... I guess I'll just have to be labeled as a stalker.

Starting to get some blue paint on parts, probably should have spent more time getting them ready and fixed a few more imperfections but this is industrial paint and will never look like automotive paint nor is this a show and shine PIG so I’ll knock the bugs off when it’s dry and call it good.

Working on finishing up the wiring and installed the new LED running/blinker lights and sockets.

Got everything mounted only to find I have an intermittent issue in my blinker assembly in the steering column, going to call around tomorrow and see if I can buy a new switch assembly.

Jim I'm swamped Sat. but I don't have any definitive plans on Sunday or Monday. Call me if you need something or if you want to take it out for a test spin.
