Sad to see her off. SHe will be spending some time over at LCD to get the body work, paint and windows installed. Also popping windshield out and addressing the rust. Maybe.... just maybe she might come home with a new rear bumper? what say you @SteveJackson ? ;-)

Those 2 guys that helped you install the plastic over the windows must have been very talented.

Hello Andrew,

When you will have the windscreen removed to get rid of rust, i'd suggest, if you don't already know, you make sure the two drains are clear; otherwise rust will have a permanent welcome at the bottom of the frame. Had to have one of them sorted on mine.

Sorry about the trail damage, Andrew, but I am glad that it is getting fixed properly.

In the meantime, and you might have probably seen this already, here is a video where your truck was spotted at least three times (along with two other 70-series).

Keep us posted on the repair progress!

Thanks Alberto, that is really neat! Wonder if there is a high res version somewhere of the video

Andrew, we're testing the final adjustment next week and then should have a few production bumpers and we'd love to test fit one on the Troopy!

So this week we will have a full set of rear windows on their way to Land Cruisers Direct. Ive got another lead on some windows in AUS if there is a need. Ill be sending them over later in the year now that I have found a north american source. Ill probably send them with the same shipment of long ranger fuel tank.

So since the troopy is off getting a new bumper and some other maint items (and windows) some small things started arriving from OZ. A very special canadian friend of mine will be getting one of the only 2 troop carriers of australia calendars outside the US.

Ive also commissioned some shirts to be made, for the troopy crowd. The first design should be back next week and Ill post up the pics. Ill be selling at cost and in tshirt and long sleeve. Need to own a troopy to get one :-)

If you helped to install black plastic over broken windows does that make you eligible for a t-shirt? :)

Got some pics of the progress on teh troopy from Steve and crew. Good god they have a talent with shaping metal back to what its supposed to look like. Ill post up some shots once i get her back and can post a complete. Should get her back by christmas!

Just now catching up - work and other things have been insane. Thanks for the shoutout. I do hate that you had the damage but I look forward to seeing the rebuilt and better truck!

Even though i have a great time at windrock at the 70s meet and greet, ended up taking root drivers side during a hill climb with steep walls . Thought i had cleared it until the ass kicked over and leaned into the root. Not happy, and you got to pay to play. More upsetting was there was not one bypass but two. Sending the troopy over to @SteveJackson sometime in the next two weeks to try to work his magic and repair and paint, as well as addressing some minor rust issues around the windscreen. Popping it out and replacing the cancer if found. Maybe depending on total cost, finally getting the rear bumper :)

Warning, Graphic images ahead.

Apart from that incident, it was a great time. Too many pics to post but here are some of the good ones. I want to thank sam @elkaholic for being a fantastic trail leader and guiding us through some pretty tough spots. The troopy lived up to its legendary ability to get through the rough stuff. I think it surprised a few folks, the driver on the other hand should be more careful with roots. :p

Ill pm you both offline :-) I guess we can amend the clause if you own one or helped an owner put a sheet over their broken windows....
