Slightly better flex with skinny arms but nothing like I want it. 3 or 4 link might be in my future.

What really disappoints me is the lack of ground clearance. Need more slider clearance and to reinforce my lower link mounts. I dragged everything going up turkey claw. But it made it with out winching, rock stacking or tuggingrl up for help. Fully locked front and rear 80% of the time. Took some really hard lines that my old mini truck crawler would have done with out any problems that the 80 got hung up underneath on sliders.

I'm thinking of going to 38 milestars or maybe 40s to get more clearance
One thing to add about the DVS arms. Look back a page or two and compare the fork lift flex comparison pics from OEM vs DVS. Theres a significant difference in those pics. But still I think I need more front flex as I 3 wheeled some hard obstacles. More flex will keep it planted better. But the clearance under is the main drag.

This one popped passenger rear. Had to swap the new spare tire driver front since the tread depth is different by a lot. Now I got 2 new in front and 2 old in rear.

Good thing I got part time otherwise the spider gears won't be happy with the depth diff.

I got one new tire unmounted on the roof.

Had my buddy coming down to the hammets bring me my 2 new tires fron my house before he came down on Sat.

No bueno...
I'm thinking about getting Black Label Milestar Patagonia in 38. I've heard that it's really soft and not good for heavy rigs because it wears down Super quick. Does anybody have any experience with regular Patagonia is for the Black Label?o

I know someone who might have an opinion on this. @GW Nugget

I’ve been running SS trXus in 37x12.5 since 2017 and haven’t been disappointed yet no matter what we are treading on or in.

,You Mite check out the Kanti mud hogs 39x12.50 x17 there the same price as the Patagonia 38x13.50x17s
I'm really happy with the mud hogs
Looks like you guys are having a good time at the Hammers, what other trails have you run?

I’d hate to be your neighborhood tire shop. Perhaps MT/R Kevlars are in your future.
I hate MTRs. Had a set and will neeeeever get the again. They wont balance worth a s***. Ive balanced them over 10 times with static, road force and balance beads. They are a massive pain in the ass. I sold them and bought Trail Grappelers after that. Currently on STT Pros

I just reread your whole thread to catch up on your build. It was worth my time.
Super fast build speed... I barley could keep up just in the reading Haha...
Your lift looks to be a solid 4" of lift & the frame height confirms it to be.
Don't sell the TourFlex coils but I would try the 6" lift coils to compare on street manners.
As for tires, 2 blow outs... you must have nerves of steel.
My 38" MileStars are a pretty soft tire. I have a couple rubber chucks missing with only one 4x trip on the books.
I would also advise to skip the 38s to 39s for these reasons:
The MileStar is a C-6 ply rated tire, max psi is 35, It is a balloon shaped tire 13.5' wide. On the road I feel a more balloon tire feel. I liked my E rated 37s much better, they were more responsive to steering commands.
I would go with the E rated 39x12.5 Kanita, its not much taller & is skinny enough to fit better in a 80 series fenders. See @Broski rig... much like.
BFG has a 39x13.5 but that one is also a C-6 ply tire.
If your bent on a 38" MileStar I will sell you my 4 38s for $800 bones.

never heard of kantia tires. Let me do some research and figure out where I can buy them. I know I have to cut lot of fender already. It self clearanced at the hammers. Lol

2 tires blew out at freeway speeds on this cruiser.

And my white 80 had 2 blow out on the freeway in 2019 coming home from Cruise moab. Blew on hwy80 going down hill toward Tahoe.

Those 2 were Goodyear Duratrac 35s.

I’ve heard about the balancing issues.
