Any room available at the inn @woody?

Maggie has one reserved, and Joel/Jody Moranton has another...should be one inside spot left :) (or, our truck camper, which is QUITE comfy as well)

I may not get there til Saturday. Hide the good beer :flipoff2:

Bummed I can't make it! Same weekend as our XOverland open house at Toyota HQ in TX. Stoked to get to tour their new facility and spend some time with them but I'd rather be driving my 74 :D

If there is a raffle option, Cruiser Outfitters is in and if this becomes annual I'd like to make it next year. Also, one of more of my employees might be interested in heading down, they have more truggy built Toyota's but could likely snag my 74.

I would like to make this event and meet all of you. I think I can take the time off from work to make it. I do need to do this on a budget though, so I have a few questions. May I park my Troopy somewhere for free to sleep in near or around the group? What should I expect for food, will meals be eaten out, everyone contributes to make dinner, fend for yourself? Thanks, hope I can make it.

One night will be a potluck at my house, another night will likely be out at a local BBQ joint (note to self: call them....rough guess, $15-20/meal) Additional cook nights will be around a campfire or I'll have the grill at the house available. Breakfast and lunch will be on your own.

Free parking/camping available at the IH8MUD HQ (gravel) and tons of free BLM camp options in the area too, including Toquerville Falls.

I'm also in the less experienced group and lacking recovery equipment/knowledge and lacking spares (other than oil and fuel filter). I want to learn but not looking to beat the crap ou of my rig. So if that works...
I'm more or less I. The same boat. I was also thinking about spending a day or half day in Zion if anyone is interested.

No matter where you guys end up, please take plenty of photos so us flatlanders back east can see what we're missing.
:)

hey CO folk, I’ll be leaving GJ sometime on Friday, the earlier the better, and would love to caravan with some/all of you if possible. That way I’m not the only one doing 65 in a 85. 70 series unite!! As far daily activities, I’m game for whatever. Would be fun to get into some recovery situations. Also like the idea of cruising out to the north rim. Exploring Zion is always a winner too. Can’t wait for next weekend!!

This all sounds great and very reasonable. Is everyone just arriving Friday or is something going on Friday? Trying to figure out when to drive down/take off work.
If you arrive Thursday, we'll wheel Friday....simple enough ;)

Busy schedule at work right now, but it looks like I can take Friday and Monday off. So I'm looking at leaving Friday morning and driving back Monday. I'm into the convoy idea, who else is headed out from Colorado?

Also, what can I expect trail wise?

I am. My hope is leave Thursday eve and just find a spot to sleep along the way, and finish the drive Friday. But we'll see I usually just let things play out as they may.

Trails can vary from insane to mild....within 50 yards....and I can run my buggy next to a stockish BJ7x and be challenged equally :)

Initial plan is to do a "longer" run on Saturday to the North Rim (200 miles roundtrip). Friday and Sunday will be local/Sand Hollow trails.

I can leave GJ Thursday night and camp at in the swell or leave Friday morning. Would like to be at MUD HQ with enough time for a little wheeling or Zion hiking on Friday. @Beastiethe70 @SkiBum506 or anyone else heading this way, y’all are welcome to stay with me in GJ Thursday night if you want. I’ve got a couple of pull out beds to accommodate. You do have to put up with a very positive and chatty 82yo metaphysical energy worker tho.
