Getting a late start today, but I'm finally headed out of California! Just picked up a few Bay Area beers, two sours from Almanac in SF and a six-pack from Strike in San Jose.

I'm still in Chicago trying to stay awake and not miss my plane. Put in 120 hours in the last 9 days plus a post festival party last night. Not looking forward to the drive out of Texas tomorrow. It will be lots of coffee, Red Bull, and sugar to keep me going.

We will be in space 14. I'm sure you can park there. If the space is not large enough for our large tent. You can have it and we will camp at ironton.
Anyone willing to share a camp site with a total stranger that has nothing in common with you besides a love for our old rigs?

Like a dumbass I spaced reserving a camp site and all that is open now is the 10th

Sleeping in the back of the 60 so really just looking for a place to park for the night and a shower. Thurs fri sat nights

Thanks
Jake

I have one last day (and some of tonight) to take on a few last-minute creature comforts for the '76 FJ40. My wife and I took it up to the mountains for a mountain bike ride today. On the way home we talked a bit about the heat inside the vehicle, which of course is coming from the engine, exhaust, and transmission/transfer case. So I'm thinking of opening up the roll of Thermozite I bought for my '86 FJ60 project vehicle (to go under the carpet I bought from @reevesci) and cutting some to fit the FJ40. It's also a good time to (finally) trial fit the aftermarket rubber floor mat I bought from him last year. That should really help cut down the heat from below.

The 90* elbow connector for the CB radio coax cable arrived this afternoon via UPS. I installed it on the back of the radio and now the radio slides back all of the way into the mounting bracket. I angled the elbow down towards the accelerator pedal so it's easy to disconnect/reconnect the antenna lead for stowing the magnetic base antenna away for the night.

I'm in the same boat with camping, I have a place for Thursday but washoping to split Friday and Saturday. I have a small BJ70. Just need a spot to park, no tent room required. Finally tacked down my schedule for being there.

Best,
Maggie

@Mr Cimarron you had mentioned it was just you and your 40 at your spot, any interest in splitting a site and cost?

@Jason hansen if you do vacate the spot could I also maybe jump on that opening and help cover the cost?

I may have to look back in this thread to see if I had mentioned to someone else the same thing. I honestly don't think it will be an issue. I assume there is a overflow parking area if number of trucks become an issue?

I also dont have a site reservation since I wasn't sure my cruiser was going to pass smog in time for the event. Im planning to camp nearby somewhere unless extra spaces open up or someone has room for another cruiser. (No tent, just the truck)

Kk I can easily enough camp elsewhere if need be, just don't want to miss out on any group fun.

We'll see what happens.

Delayed plane last night got me home at 1am and has gotten me a late start. Leaving now and hopefully reaching Amarillo area today.

Don't know how large my space will be...but I'm alone and will be sleeping in my rig. Don't know my camp # but look me up when you get there. Brown 60 with a loaded down Con Fer rack. Calif plates with an Aussie Outback plate on the front of an ARB bumper.

Two days until this kicks off fellers!
Been sorting swag all morning. If your name is on the list then you will recieve the sizes requested. Cost of production was $20 each. Payment is not required but my bank account would greatly appreciate it. Find us in 4J campground Thursday afternoon and pick up your stickers and shirts.
A big shout out to @woody for providing the forum for us to keep these things Cruising.
Looking forward to meeting each if you Cruiser nuts in person. Safe travels to all, see you in Ouray.
Casey...
