Hey guys new guy here I’ve have had my land cruiser 3-4 months now. I love it I’m out of Carson where the 405,110 and 91 meet. I got some RW but still saving for my lift. I would love to meet some of you guys one day.
New owner for just a few weeks now, in Apple Valley.
Checking in from Brea. Still bone stock but not for long. Parts are piling up.
Amazing place. 108 degree heat en route to throwing snow balls later that day at 10k ft elevation. It's a long way up though, you're almost a couple hours each way from pavement depending how far you go. Saw only a few other groups, and that was a busy July 4th weekend. Side trip to Funnel Lake was a blast, especially doing the full loop. A few pics... and if you're going let me know maybe I'll join. There's just so many sweet spots up there, I have a hard time going back to the same place twice given my limited # of trips each year. How was the trip brah?

Where were these photos taken? I looked back in thread...and maybe I missed... ?
Planning to brave the long weekend with no real plan in place, going to head towards Eastern Sierra's leaving in a few hours. Destination of Coyote Flats outside of Bishop with hopes to find a nice dispersed camping spot to setup Basecamp for the weekend. I'm going to guess I'm the only one out there with this plan! Not.
If anyone has any thoughts/ideas let me know, I've yet to explore Coyote Flats. Also if you plan to be in the area and want to connect side mail me.
Congrats and welcome!
I'm in San Diego... Post up some photos. We always like photos...
Nice! You drove it home from OK?
I’ve done Laurel Lake many. Ski, bike, fly fish.Roughly speaking that campsite was here (edit: about 22 miles from downtown Bishop):
37°09'59.0"N 118°26'35.7"W
37.166395, -118.443248
You could def do some mountain biking but if it were me I'd have someone drive me to the top of one of the local high points and tell them you'll meet them back at camp! Another great spot a bit further north is Laurel Lakes, only a few miles up to an awesome lake.
Oh you gotta go to Coyote flats then, that little trout was from the stream that cuts through the campsite. Nothing big in there (Baker Creek) but so fun. A little Tenkara rod is perfect.I’ve done Laurel Lake many. Ski, bike, fly fish.
