Holy Jim is closed to residents only.Sorry guys, I was going to give a report but life got in the way.
HOLY JIM: looks like they paved a good amount of the road after the fire.( HOLY FIRE)
MAPLE SPRINGS: I saw some jeeps and enduro bikes coming out of Silverado Canyon. Yesterday. Trail to the top looks to be open.
Or should I say open to residents only.Holy Jim is closed to residents only.
Heading to Big Bear, this Friday, 21th. Going to do Gold Mountain or sidewinder, then moderate to easy trail 2N02 over to Holcolmb valley trail, moderate to easy as well. Stops along the way to sit and eat some snacks and breathe in some clean air.
The hard part, we leave Hacienda Heights area at 5am sharp. Or meet at McDonalds in Redlands on 38 (E Lugonia) and Wabash around 6am for a quick coffee & McMuffin. Gas station across the street, then head up 38 to 2N01 trail head and air down. Usually heading back to LA around 2:30pm, so you're home around 4pm. Weather forecast is good. If you are interested you can PM.
The Truck Shop on Mira Mar Rd. could handle it but they get very busy so timing may be an issue. Also Bent Motorsports in San Marcos does very good work. Give me a shout I could consume some pie as well. In Ramona area.
Personally there is no comparison BENT!!
Hey everyone!
Originally from Poway (North County San Diego) but I'm living in Las Vegas right now due to the military. I was wondering if any of you guys know of a good shop in SD that could put on an ARB Bumper/Winch and a BP-51 setup? I could probably do the suspension myself but shop space and time are extremely limited. I'll be in the Poway/Ramona/Lakeside area this weekend for the holidays, looking forward to some Julian Pie!
Related note...
I had a HORRIFICALLY BAD suspension installation experience at Off Road Warehouse in El Cajon (East San Diego County). Like...I-cannot-believe-these-guys level of bad.
So bad...that I drove all the way to Slee (1000 miles away) the next time I needed a major, heavy install.
Woah!! Run away!!!
BP51 with install kits should run under $5k and install should be well under $1k.
Well the Bumper is 2 grand and the winch is 900...so there's that lol.
$9000.... WHAT...is it made of gold?I went over to 4Wheel Parts and they quoted me 9 grand for a BP-51 setup, ARB Bumper and Warn Winch. I don't have a problem with the cost except for the fact that these guys are a national chain and I feel like their worker bees have no vested interest in the final product IMO.
Hey @Cruiser Bauers you're in the wrong section!$9000.... WHAT...is it made of gold?
