So, I'm in need of a muffler....what are my options?

I replaced my stock muffler with a bosel one and found that it droned a lot more and had quite a bit more exhaust note than the stock muffler. All new gaskets where used and there are no exhaust leaks.

My stock muffler has the pipe break free from the body causing a rattle hence the replacement.

Flowmaster super 44, I really like it

The oem muffler is so far the most quiet with the drone sound in the right place. Buying Bozal everything and oem muffler seems like a good idea for low noise.

Mine is doing exactly that. But I am over budget for this year. Hope it holds till next year. :-(

Mine got worse and worse to the point I needed to find the money. Before yours gets to bad put a weld on it to keep it from moving, the moving on mine is what killed it.

I also noticed that.

thrush !!!

Anyone have any sound clips of these various mufflers? I'd like a little growl but no drone. How's the Flowmaster 55 for noise at cruise?

OK a little update...

For the past week, I've noticed a mild leak whenever I pass another vehicle or a wall or building on the side of the road :hhmm:

Just put her on the lift to change rear pads, stuck a shop vac in the tailpipe and set it to blow....

Found it leaking where the Y-Pipe bolts onto the manifold (rear Y)

Thought the nuts might have loosened up, but they're tight and the flange plates are already flattened, so I'm gunna order up another set of gaskets and stack them :meh:

Anyone else run into this problem?

Many have had the same problem. You might want to try 2 gaskets per side.

OK, installed 4 gaskets on the y-pipe and they were a bit thick at first, but after doing a heat cycle, was able to tighten them down a bit more

No more leaks :)

Also replaced all 4 nuts and one stud that didn't really need replacing, but it came out with the nut and I had an extra new one on hand :meh:

I too want to try the Bosal muffler. Where did you purchase? I'm having a hard time finding the gaskets that go on each end of muffler...
