I ended up getting the short one and the one with the cd player holder. Whichever I don't use I'll post up here for sale shortly. I'll beat amazons price ;)

I'll take the one you don't use :)

Thanks for the amazon link... I was going with the ammo can mod, but for just a few $ more this is a pretty sweet setup. Plus i'm a prime member so can get it tomorrow for 4$! and in a 60 it looks like a no-brainer install (so i might be able to do it myself!)

thx!

I actually bought the VDP one from a fellow friend and FJ60 owner....he bought it for his 60 and his gf bought him a tuffy so I got it for $40. A little aggravating to get it in but I also have a short temper.

I like how you put that switch in there. It doesn't get in your way ever on the side? Good idea.

The switch itself is very low profile and does not get in the way...

I'll keep you up to date. Should know which one I'm going to use in the next week or so.

Oh yeah, that is low profile. Looks nice!

Installed mine this afternoon. Took about 30 minutes. I drilled 3 holes and used some slightly longer screws in the front. Worked out great. I am curious about what others have done with gap behind/under the console.
Thanks for the info about this console. It's going to be a really nice addition.

Put one in my 80 today. Hadn't seen this as an option and happened into 4wheelparts today and saw it for $90, bought thinking it may work.

Fits perfectly. Drilled three holes, used 4 inches (two 2x2) stacked to level it in the rear and 8x1.25 x 100mm bolts to mount on stock support and stock bolt in front.

It measures 9-inches wide and 20-inches long. The arm rest is a welcome addition as well.

Yeah buddy! Here's what I did last weekend and last night I put new rear hatch gas shocks in!! :D

I love it!!! Got it "used" on Amazon for $59!! :D it came in the box, in wrapping, hardware bagged and instructions (don't know why they called it used, but saved 30 bones!!! ). Night and day difference from before/after! Love me some armrest!!!

Bump for updates and possible pics for use in a 40???

I got one for the 40, but I built my own seat cradle...
This thing is literally 3 bolts, so if you have the stock seat cradle, you could bolt or weld some plate off there and just drill the holes.
For the price, its a nice unit.
I had to mod mine a bit. I 86'd the cup holders cuz they got in the way of my shifter (4L60E auto tranny...), and in order to keep the lid securely shut, you need to lock it. If you lock it, you have no access to the radio, so Ill be adding a magnetic latch to keep it shut when wheeling, but Ill still be able to flip it open to get to the radio. The lock then is still in tact that way.

I got the Smitty Stero console for my 60. Plan on putting stero and i-pod connection in it. Do any of you have any suggestions/pictures on how you installed ur radio in the console? AND, what did you do with your original stero hole?

got a Smittybilt for my FJ62...cut the hole for the heater...trying to figure out the easiest way to run a template for the drill holes.....any suggestiongs?

I will post pics when I am finished! (crappy job or not!)

Yeah, the one with the stereo doesn't fit the 62. It will work for the 60 though.
